Sahara Jeeps not called Sahara in Australia?

I was just told that sahara jeeps in Australia cannot have any of the Sahara stickers on them.

Can anyone confirm this and tell me why?

LandCruiser has the Sahara name in Australia.

Toyota had some models called Sahara as well.

You could always add the stickers yourself if you wanted.

The Sahara equivalent here is called the "Overland" but it's not just a different name.

The only standard/non-limited models sold here are: Sport, Overland and Rubicon. In general, the Australian models tend have more standard features that tend to come as extras in the US. At the same time we don't get some of the US options here at all... like the fitted inverter, remote start and the panic button on the key.

As for what the Overland has over the Sahara, the former comes standard with factory coloured hard top, fenders and is a dual top. I'm sure there are other differences too if you look closely... in addition to the changes made for Australian Design Rules, etc. compliance.
