Warranty - one million questions:
I'm looking for help in understanding my warranty. I live in Southern New Jersey, but bought my Jeep with 5000 miles on it from an Infinity dealership in West Chester, PA. Are Jeep bumper-to-bumper factory warranties all standard? How do I know what's covered and what isn't? And for how long (years/miles)? Is there anything I need to do to maintain the warranty, like maintenance checks? And what about what not to do (certain mods)? Do I ask these questions to any local Jeep dealership or to the Infinity dealership that I bought it from?

It's all in the manual. What's covered and how long.

I'd take the vin and mileage to a Jeep dealer and ask them, they can look it up on Dealerconnect and tell you whats still covered and for how long

Thanks! I think I'll do that :-)

(No manual was with purchase)

Depending on year it's got a 36 mo/36000 mile warranty for everything or a 36 mo/36000 mile and a 60 mo/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. As for mods, under the Magnusson/Moss act, no repair under warranty can be refused unless the mod directly caused the failure. At some dealers you will have to argue. I keep a copy of the Act with me.

Great info, thank you! Good idea to keep a copy of the Act as a comeback.

Stopped at dealership today. Guy was really nice and explained warranty info to me at length. Basically, his advice was "drive it like it's stolen until 36,000 miles!" He said if you get the recommended service done at 30,000 & 60,000 miles, it'll help if you ever need repair after warranty is up. Like say my transmission goes at only 5,000 past my warranty, I can be like, "Listen Chrysler, I took excellent care of this vehicle and just spent $600-$700 on a regular maintenance check... you should pay for the new transmission..." He fave me a booklet with warranty info and maintenance recommendations with prices etc. He said it wasn't necessary to get them done or to have oil changes done there or anything.
