Tera Flex 1.5" performance springs installed.
 
Got up this morning and installed my 1.5" performance leveling springs. Took about 3 hours start to finish working solo. Got just about 1" lift in the rear and just under 2" in front. Rides great took it down a rough gravel road and seemed smoother than stock 17 and 60 springs that I was running. I had my 120 lb daughter sit on the front bumper to see how much it would sag in anticipation of putting a winch on. It sagged about 1/2" inch at most so that will be about perfect.

Just curious what made you decide to go this route which is considerably more than a leveling kit. What made you not go with the 2.5 coil lift that seems to be very popular. Im asking because I am in quall about what route to go. Im looking for a better ride quality and for slight offroading. I won't be crawling any rocks any time soon.

I wanted better performance than stock coil springs provide and these springs will give a little better flex off road then just the budget level kits that uses spacers and stock coils. They will also perform better then the budget kit when I add a winch up front. I got them for $330 shipped thru Rockridge 4X4 so the price was not bad. Talking with Tera Flex they said these coils perform much better on and off road then their budget leveling kit does. I figured I was going to do the labor myself I may as well spend a little more.

As for not going with 2.5" kit I figured a little less lift would be better on the road and being I have 33" tires it would look better. I think too much lift with 33's look funny.

Just finished the same kit this morning along with a 9/16 bolt kit.
As with jadmt, took about three hours start to finish.

I went from 14/56 and got the same results (2" front and 1" rear) My measurements from the Rubi Rails is dead level.

Only reason I didn't go with a full 2.5 kit is I need to still fit in my garage. Ordering a Gobi rack this Winter so it's just going to just fit.
Figure I'll just armor up and stay out of the big rocks...or get a bigger garage.

I just got these springs in the mail! Did you have to drop axles all the way to the ground in order to squeeze in the spring? My jack stands are standard ones and when I tried dropping the axle to take out the stock spring with TF leveling kit it would barely budge.

I used a set of 3 ton stands and did not have to drop the axle too far at all.

I will be installing this kit in the coming months but will also be looking for shocks to purchase as well. Is there anything else you plan on adding suspension wise?

I already have rubicon shocks and JKS quick disconnects. I put about 100 miles on today and I am impressed. It definitely handles corners better and is smooth on rough washboard dirt roads.

At the rate these Toyo open country at 2's are wearing it will be a long time before I need new rubber. I have about 12000 miles on them and I am still at 15/32" and they start at 17/32". If and when I bump up tire size I will probably do flat fender flaires

What is the purpose of the little gold things included with sway bar links in this kit?

I used 2 sets of 6 ton harbor freight jack stands I got them with a coupon for $32 a set. I did jack all four corners up at the same time because I was rotating tires at the same time and it just makes it easier. I have quick disconnects already so I undid those, unbolted the lower shock bolts front and rear, removed the brake hose bracket, made sure I had slack in the breather front and rear and pulled the parking brake cable from the little wire bracket and unbolted the lower rear sway bar link bolt and I had plenty of room to pull the old coils out and put the new ones in. It could not have been any easier. I have done it before so I know that once you drop the axle down you get just push down on the side you are working on and get a couple extra inches which is all you need to pull the old ones out and put the new ones in without having to use a pry bar or anything else.

those would be grease zerks :) screw them in the threaded hole on the links so you can grease them. I like my JKS disconnects much better because I can adjust them so the front sway bar is 100% level. They also appear to be better made.

Oh I see, I do not have the tool to grease the sway bar links then. Besides the coil leveling kit, do you have anything else suspension related like adjustable CA's or track bar?

no nothing else suspension wise besides the rubicon shocks and the jks links.

You will want to get a grease gun to lube your sway bar links whether you use the tera flex ones or get jks ones.

Right on, this seems to be what i need. I did hear word that Rock Krawler is about to release their 2 inch coil lift. Curious what that might include and $$.

quick question to the OP or anyone else (and sorry, not trying to hi-jack the thread) . I have just the leveling kit right now. I am about to go to 33's and a 100 lb Rampage bumper. So I know the sag in the front will come back. What should I add to prevent this? Can I put just the upgraded coils with my leveling kit that is already there(teraflex puck spacers)? Or should I just buy the dang bigger / heavier coils and get rid of the leveling kit?

I know you can buy the front performance coils from TeraFlex separately and I that would probably work well, I know they would give you better performance then stock springs with the added weight.

I will be putting on the Tera Flex Performance Leveling Kit within a couple of weekends. I've been looking at Quadratec's Shock Advisor page for 2" lifts and 1" lifts. Not sure if I should just stick with stock shocks or not.
Is that Rubicon Express shocks? or is that stock Rubicon shocks?

Folks-
Couldn't wait to do it myself so I had me dealer install the TF performance leveling kit. I installed the Rancho 9000 shocks.

Dealer claims they cannot get caster within spec, 3.15 on the right and 3.20 on the left. They want to order and install a "caster nut kit" that will allow for the lower control arm adjustment and proper caster.

They blowing smoke and clueless? Is this expected with this kit and Ranchos?

what size rancho's?

26 in the front, 28 on the back. Rancho tech support stated I could use them with the PLK.

You going to tell me I need 28's in the front and 30's in the rear? Just installed these things 3 months ago.

I to opted for TF 1.5 coil lift with 285/75/16 (33's). I really like the ride better than stock, like the look, and confident it will do what I need to without opening up a whole nother bank account for additional mods to go 2.5 lift and 35's.
