Here is my first modification project to my '99 TJ... Safari Tan bed liner from Grizzly Grip. I think it turned out pretty good for a DIY project. Total project cost was less than $200 including beer!

Man, I wish someone made an OD green in this type of stuff.....

Give them a call. They are VERY helpful. You can even talk to the guy who will mix the batch you order. They may make an OD batch for you.

dude that looks sweet!

Wr@ngler00 08-17-2006 12:22 AM

That look freakin badass. How long did it take you do do everything? From start to finish i mean.

WranglerHawg 08-17-2006 07:02 AM

looks real nice

Dark Water 08-17-2006 07:57 AM

Start to finish...

Friday night... removed carpet, seats, back seat hardware.

Saturday... swept and vaccumed entire inside of Jeep, scuffed all surfaces to be covered with a scotch pad and a rotory scuff pad attached to cordless drill, cleaned surface with MEK, applied masking (blue) tape and paper, took a short beer break (it was noon somewhere), applied first coat, took a one hour beer break to let first coat dry, aplied second coat, removed masking, took another one hour beer break, reinstalled seats and hardware, took final beer break to admire my handy work and clean up.

Sunday... took the wife for a drive.

Looks nice man. Did you put it over your drain plugs?

Dark Water 08-17-2006 09:00 AM

No, I left the drains open and replaced the rubber stoppers once I was done. I was careful not to get any in the openings for the bolts and screws.

One word of caution with this product, make sure to apply this in a well ventilated area... outside is preferable. I noticed the heavy fumes especially when doing the floor in the front seat area.

LIL_red_JEEP 08-17-2006 09:41 AM

You're talking including premium beer right? j/k

hey looks great!

whiteyj 08-17-2006 09:42 AM

How does it compare to the carpet in dealing with road noise or heat off the cat?

Looks great!

bluvikng 08-17-2006 09:47 AM

Superbulous (I know, not in dictionary) Job!!!!!! I even like the color combination, you chose. Even looks like you did a great prep job. Hopefully, that will last you a long time. Let us know how it wears. I read the link you provided, and was impressed with this product. Can even do concrete repairs with it. With it's rubbery compound, it should not chip.

WranglerHawg 08-17-2006 10:02 AM

Yeah, i was gonna go with Herculiner, but now i'm thinking about using this product because of the color selection. About how much is the actual product, and where can i get it.

Dark Water 08-17-2006 10:34 AM

I haven't noticed a difference in the heat or the noise level.

You can find it @

The folks there are very nice. I used the package for a 4x8 truck bed... $115.00 plus shipping. The total project was less than $200.

 Sorry, duplicated my self

That looks so awesome! Did you have to remove the center console?

Dark Water 08-23-2006 10:37 AM

I started to remove it but after thinking about it I opted to mask the console and the area fwd of it. Interestingly enough the bed liner didn't stick to the plastic console where I ran over the tape. This particular product needs a clean but scuffed surface to stick too.

dusmcbro 08-23-2006 04:49 PM

wow! impressive. Looks as though it turned out well.

naterg 08-23-2006 08:30 PM

Did you spray it on or roll it on?

mrbigjeep 08-23-2006 09:42 PM

its roll on

upinar 09-09-2006 12:49 AM
