Jeep Better Wake Up
If this baby comes out I'm switching.

Land Rover DC100 Concept - Expedition Ready Defender | Land Rover USA

Based on the quality level and resale value of Land Rover's vehicles here in the United States, Jeep has absolutely nothing to worry about.

overblown 08-25-2013 10:53 PM

I love Rovers but I don't see this being more capable then a wrangler. If they do make it, I'm sure it will sell though.

jadmt 08-25-2013 10:57 PM

just based on Land Rover prices I don't think they will steal too many away.

See ya.....

Tweak 08-25-2013 11:06 PM

you going to put 22's on it?

traitor08 08-25-2013 11:32 PM

That wasted about 30 seconds of my day.

overblown 08-25-2013 11:33 PM

I'm just thinking about capabilities. If I cared about reliability, I wouldn't own or have owned half the stuff I have lol. Including the JK. This concept vehicle just doesn't do it for me. Certainly not anything to consider over a wrangler. I will say though that a few of it's features like the sonar thing sound cool.

I am pretty much going to be stuck in a Wrangler until somebody else starts making another convertible with 10" of ground clearance and lockers.

RKracing 08-26-2013 12:21 AM

Dam spare tire is off center.................don't want it!

mckey73 08-26-2013 12:26 AM

It's the 4wd Mini Cooper! If it had a solid front axle maybe, but no.

donmeca2020 08-26-2013 12:28 AM

when i usually any Land Rover vehicle driving around here in SOFLA, all i see and think about are yuppies drinking their $6 dollar lattes and rich moms driving around....

My first thought. Pass.

m998dna 08-26-2013 01:14 AM

Not sure who needs to wake up ... the OP or Land Rover. The LR2 starts at $40K.

Go for it ..

Rmiller31 08-26-2013 01:18 AM

What a turd. I've seen rally cars with more ground clearance then that. I've always kinda liked rovers but this one looks awful. just another high dollar suv that might drive on a gravel road from time to time. Also with rovers electronics history I cringe at the thought of more electronics

Notice the playground it's in....a bunch of smooth dirt hills.

I pass so don't count with my money for this range.

I really want to know what kind of suspension it has, from here it smells like another FJ, just micro-sized with a touch of Scion...

I see what you did here

Comparing apples and oranges IMO
I was expecting a jeep like vehicle with at least a removable top. Looks like any other high priced SUV.

ohioviper 08-26-2013 07:56 AM

Looks like a Geo tracker. No thanks.

Sucker Punch 08-26-2013 08:02 AM

That thing is ugly! And no removable top!! No comparison to the wrangler. A buddy of mine had a older defender 90 that was sweet. This thing you posted is a joke:doh:

crowe 08-26-2013 08:06 AM

Can't see too many switching to that for reasons already listed not to mention I don't believe there's a moniker left in auto industry with loyalty that jeep has and enjoys which only seems to grow in my opinion. If I ever have to get a new vehicle to replace my tj it'll be a jk and I'm sure I'm not the only one who says that.

ESP 08-26-2013 08:15 AM

It does look like a geo tracker. Rovers always had that expensive sophisticated look. I think they've lost that with this one.

Wildo 08-26-2013 08:22 AM

Plenty of Defenders down here in Costa Rica. You see Gringos and rich farmers driving them all the time (as well as vintage Toyota Land Cruisers). Nearly bought one as it was a fraction of the cost of my Wrangler in the second hand market. The guy that was selling drove it to my house and it turns out he was the mechanic representing the seller.

When you have a full time mechanic on standby, you can't help but wonder. It validates all the street talk about Land Rovers as a brand. The mechanic freelancea and his phone wA ringing off the wall from clients. ..even told me that it would cost 5-10k in parts and service a year if I'm not careful. Looks badass but I choose reliability over that anyday. Perhaps the new models are built better.

docbott 08-26-2013 08:34 AM

I have owned 4 jeeps. One if the worst decisions I made was trading my 03 Rubi in for a LR. Was worst vehicle I ever had but needed more room for a growing family. Needless to say I traded it in on a new jeep. Still wish I had some of my other jeeps but my new one is great. We all learn from our mistakes.

zenman 08-26-2013 09:41 AM

 I figured I'd wake you guys up! I'd never buy anything made by Brits, plus I like my new 10 A too much.

Well, them Brits just keep trying, but what I just seen looks like one of those cars that you see on the rides at know the ones that race around the track:eek: NO WAY IS THIS OD EVER GOING TO BE SEEN IN THAT THING..........:nonono::nonono::nonono:

I bet that SHAQ won't be advertising for them.........:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Silverback51 08-26-2013 07:17 PM

I have to agree with most here. I don't see this being a threat to the Jeep.
