JK head unit in a TJ
Ok so before you reply it can't be done, please refrain. I believe that it can be done!

Most of the replys to threads like this say that it can't be done because of the size and then also because of the Can-Bus system in the JK. I have a 2010 head unit being shipped to me (hopefully will have it this week). The size of the unit I know is larger than the TJ and I will work with that once I get the wiring figured out. I have the connector to fit the factory TJ harness to wire in an "aftermarket" head unit.

1) I need to figure out the best place to get the factory harness end that plugs into the JK head unit???! I have seen them online from a couple places for around $30-$40. Seems a bit pricey, so hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

2) If anybody has the wiring diagram for the 2010 (130 unit) that would also be helpful.

3) Lastly, If you have any productive feedback, and/or personal experience that would also be appreciated.

Curious as to why? Aftermarket head units are dirt cheap.

Because it is different, and I got the headunit for free!! I like to keep my sound system "stock" looking. While upgrading it at the same time. I have a 98 and have already upgraded to the 7 speaker premium soundsystem that was first offered in the 2002 and up. Made a huge difference with the front pods and the added sub in the console. I would like to get this head unit in and have the capability of the AUX port on the front.

I got the head unit in the mail today. The initial fitment test is done. Just had to cut off the two bolt holes at the bottom on each side to get it to go in. Fits very snug into the opening. It will require very minimal cutting to the center bezel to also get it to fit back on. I want to wait till I make sure I can get it to power up and function before I cut the bezel. I will have the harness tomorrow and will test and report back. Here are a few pics of fitment.

Well the harness didn't make it here today so I'm at a stall until it gets here. Anticipation is killing me.

Finally got the wiring harness today. Still on the search for 2010 wiring diagram. I have power and some light so that is a start.

Well I finally got the harness in on Saturday. Only had about 30 minutes to mess with it though. I got power to it and was able to put in and eject a CD. I'm having trouble finding a 2010 schematic though so it's going to be rough figuring out the whole can bus system part in the JK head unit. I will report back when I get it going. If anybody has access to 2010 schematics that would be awesome. The previously give site did not have what I needed, or I couldn't find it.
