Middle St. Vrain

Gonna run this monday. Meet at Camp Dick at 9am. First time doing this trail. I think I should be ok with 35's and a 3.5" lift. Anyone want to join me?

Oberst Hajj 08-28-2013 03:54 PM

Wish I could, but Monday is a no go for me :(

RockCrawlerHULK 08-28-2013 08:31 PM

I may be in for this one. I'll let you know for sure by Sunday

you'll be just fine. i've run it twice (downhill towards camp dick anyway) with 2in and 33s.

dirtyjeepgirl 08-29-2013 06:37 AM

Haven't done this trail in a long time but was just up at the crash site might join you if the hubby is up for it.

Jeep65 08-29-2013 01:45 PM

Ok, great. so far we have
definite: myself + 1 other jeep
maybe: HULK
dirtyjeepgirl

mwelch 08-29-2013 02:24 PM

I may be up for this on Monday. Would love to hit coney flats with this trail. Both are new to me. Will decide by Saturday. Mike.

C6Rubicon 08-29-2013 03:27 PM

I should be in for this.

Jeep65 08-29-2013 06:08 PM

ok, updated list

Definite - Jeep65, + 1 jeep
Maybe - Dirtyjeepgirl, HULK, Mwelch, C6Rubicon

just an fyi - i'm still getting my feet with wheeling.
i've done china wall, moab hill (without doing the steps) Jenny Creek, Argentine Pass and Schubarth. All with great leaders and spotters (JustinLJo4 & Sinister6)

Jeep65 08-30-2013 11:00 AM

Ok, i've never been to camp dick before. where is there a good meeting place. looks like on google earth that there is a parking lot once you pass through the campsites? or should we meet at middle st vrain rd. and 72. reason i'm asking is that i'm meeting my daughter there and she needs to leave her car in an area so that it won't be towed.

thanks

Oberst Hajj 08-30-2013 12:41 PM

We might be in for this one after all. As of now, my schedule for the weekend has cleared up quite a bit.

usually there's plenty of room and parking at the trail head, after the campsites:

https://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=4...p=1&sz=19&z=19

but if you're going on labor day it might be kind of crowded there, not sure myself, never been during a 'busy' time. won't have a problem being towed if you park in that lot. not sure if you park somewhere else

The Starbucks at 3033 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, CO. This is also immediately next to a gas station, Moe's Bagels and King Soopers.
Where would your daughter be coming from?

We'd be up for Coney Flats as well. These two combined is about 50% longer then Jenny Creek, so we might consider meeting a little earlier and plan on a longer day on the trail.

Relocatedduckman 08-30-2013 01:52 PM

My son and I are a maybe.. Depends if I can get a spare 33.. If I can find one I'm green for Monday..

Jeep65 08-30-2013 02:30 PM

Updated list:
Definite: Jeep 65
+1 jeep
Maybe: Dirtyjeepgirl
HULK
Mwelch
C6Rubicon
Obersthajj
Relocatedduckman (hope you find a 33)

I hope all the maybes will be able to make it. This looks like a fun trail.
We can decide on the trail if some of us want to do Coney Flats.:D

Plan is to meet at the trailhead (parking lot after the campsites)at 9am
try to head out by 9:30.

I will try and update the list Sunday night.

She is coming from Greeley. She will most likely be going through Lyons.

Oberst Hajj 08-30-2013 06:22 PM

Yeah, looks like going through Lyons would be the best way for her to go.

Pretty sure we'll make this one, but the girls will not be with me... just the wife and little guy.

Have her leave her car at the campsites. The trailhead parking is always packed.

JeePeters 08-30-2013 07:23 PM

I'm a strong maybe on this one.

mwelch 08-30-2013 07:36 PM

Looks like we are in for sure on this one as well. My oldest will bring a friend this time.
Didn't even wash the Jeep from last weekend at Jenny Creek. Best decision all week!
Mike

with just me and the wife last weekend it took us ~3 hours for both trails, and that was with me moving at a pretty good pace for my limited amount of flex. the CF side of the trail will take up ~70% of the time imo. if you have larger tires/lift with aftermarket control arms you could probably shave off 30min, but then if you're with a group add that 30 min back on :P

Oberst Hajj 08-31-2013 12:17 PM

Yeah, more Jeeps mean more time. I wonder If it works out to x amount of time per additional Jeep. If it takes a single Jeep 3 mins to do and an obstacle, five Jeeps should take about 15 mins. Add in everyone taking pics, loading and unloading the kiddos.... I'm planning for all day. Lol

Oh, and we are in too!

Relocatedduckman 08-31-2013 08:44 PM

If colo-tj is a go.. I can get the 33 from him.. Or if yall have a spare 33 that just in case I get a flat.. The 4 of us are a go.. I'm glutten for punishment.. Myself and 3 kids. ;-)

But I'm a "More than likely"

Jeep65 08-31-2013 10:03 PM

Duck man, I have a stock 2012 rubicon spare. I'm pretty sure it's a 33. Will that work?

dirtyjeepgirl 08-31-2013 10:05 PM

I'm in....might even bring the hubby..lol...I need to get my girl dirty she is way to clean :)

Relocatedduckman 08-31-2013 10:56 PM

I'm not sure of the bolt pattern. I think you have the 5x5.5. I need the 5x4.5..
