hi idle problem

Hey all you jeepers out there i have a 95 YJ with a 2.5 4 banger and have a hi idle problem it idles at around 1500 and sometimes drops to around 800 ( I think this is normal idle) there is a code of 24 and i dont know if this is the problem please let me know:banghead:

I don't know what a code 24 is but I had the same issue on two occasions and there were two different causes. For me they were the exhaust gasket was old and needed to be replaced (bad air mix) and then there was a vacuum hose not plugged in.

code 24 is throttle position sensor above or below max voltage

I had the same problem...changed the throttle position sensor and problem solved. Its easy, cheap and quick to do.

Yeah i have the problem were the idle will drop till it nears a dead stop and trys to idle there but after running for abit the problem usally goes away

So today for bored decided why not change the oil wash and wax the jeep 100 bucks later I got this oil called royal Purple and true to the name it is, but my engine has never run better the idle problem is fixed, but for 9 bucks a qtr better be good oil :blunt:

Mine idles when cold about 3500 could be a logical reason to this?

clean out the tb and iac valve on the tb, should help a bit
