I've got it for the weekend, and will decide Monday if this is my new ride.

I'm thinkin selling those Renegades and going with black steelies.

STILL SQUARE, AND GETTING THERE!!!

What do you think???

jgano23 02-13-2009 05:21 PM

nice xj. and at least you will still be square.

4point 02-13-2009 05:35 PM

You know jeepers!!!

I doubt that it will stay the same!!!

distortedtj 02-13-2009 05:43 PM

NICE! should do you good if you decide on it.

The wheels are factory jeep "gambler" wheels. Specs...15x8 with 5.25'' bs.

and keep a eye on the control arm bushings. skyjackers had a little issue with them for a time. Said to be fixed.

Let us know what you do dare. XJ's are great rigs.

I asked on the cherokeeforum what they were, and Renegades is what they told me. I think you guys are far more knowledgeable than they are!!! :D

I still think I may try to sell them and get some evil black steelies.

Dont expect more than $150 /$200 for them. I had mint ones for sale for a year and only got like $160 or so. It was sad. :( Hopefully you can get more out of them They are worth it.

Dare2BSquare 02-13-2009 06:24 PM

Well, if I want to replace them with black steelies that should be enough. I like the look of them, but I think black on black would look good.

distortedtj 02-13-2009 06:30 PM

Yes, yes it would.

I like all black.:punk:

Hey I would be a buyer for the old wheels!

AzTJ 02-14-2009 10:41 PM

You are gonna like the AW4 auto tranny a lot! Super strong, takes all kinds of abuse and is a dream on the highway.

you wan egg wo?

amerijeep 02-15-2009 03:59 PM

Hey D2BS. Nice XJ.

I think the benefits of running aluminum wheels outweighs the rugged good looks of steel wheels. The aluminum is lighter and stronger. I've smahed quite a few of the steel wheels, but the oe aluminum live on.

Good luck, my friend.

Jerry

Dare2BSquare 02-15-2009 04:48 PM

Good to hear from you, old friend.

Thanks for the wishes.

If they let me, I'll still hang out here from time to time.

Hopefully, more often than YOU!!!

Where are you located? I have a set in the garage that I would be willing to get rid of cheap:D

PM me if interested.

Dare2BSquare 02-16-2009 01:26 PM

The deal is done on the XJ.

Talked him down to $3900. It helped when I mentioned him saying something about his girlfriend getting too fat to get in and out of the lifted Cherokee easily!!!

I'll sign over the YJ to it's new owner on Wednesday. :(

P.S. I found out the rear diff is a Chrysler 8.25 rather than the d35 on the cherokee.

amerijeep 02-16-2009 01:51 PM

Hey D2BS, was this the clean looking Rio Grande you are getting rid of?

Dare2BSquare 02-16-2009 04:17 PM

Yes, sir.

(Don't remind me.)

Sorry, my Brother. Not to throw salt on your wound, but that is a sweet RG.

Good luck with the new jeep.

Dare2BSquare 02-16-2009 05:59 PM

I've got to get busy and do a few cosmetic fixes, like faded bumpers, paint on the roof, and clean the inside real good. It will then be close to the condition the yj was.
I'm thinking I'll just take the side moldings off. It does ride better for a dd than the yj did.

And.... It's still a JEEP. :punk:
