That sucks man, sorry to hear. But it could be worse, at least she still has a job. I have a lot of friends who lost their jobs lately and I am out of a job right now as well.

jupiterboy 02-19-2009 11:08 PM

I think if we can just cut this silly middle layer out of healthcare insurance. The industry has a perfect shell game where the health insurance provider has another company package and bill for the services. The billing company repeatedly bills incorrectly to the point things go toward collection and the end user pays the cost the insurance company should have payed. Works really well with the elderly. HealthSouth got busted for it but got off in court. The best part is that the insurance company isn't liable. They just run a system of rotating billing service companies.

thats right, there's a couple big companies in chicago now that said, we're not laing anyone off, but if you stay, your salary is cut by 50%

honestly its more sarcasm, but thanks for contributing. but in all seriousness, i believe in this particular instance, her employer held out as long as he could, and waited to see what is gonna happen. and now with the foolishness of this administration, he realized, i can't keep going, i gotta make cuts, cuz this administration is not helping anything with their ideas, and actions. i would waiger that if a president came in and made some sense, and took actions to help small business, this wouldn't have happend.

I'm sorry for your/her loss but blaming someone gets you no where. Thank goodness she hasn't lost her job and just her insurance. I'm not trying to be a jerk but it really makes me sick when someone blames someone else.

ya how do you say you hate when people are blaming someone, and you just said i should blame bush? and the democrats have been doing it for 8 years.

and, how is it my wife's fault she loses the sponsorship of our insurance?

afrats 02-20-2009 02:07 PM

I am waiting for this "Change" to happen. Anyone else notice how the stock market is tanking, even after Obama has done all his stuff. Seems the investors aren't impressed with Obama and his stimulus package. Sorry to hear about the health insurance thing jpdocdave. I sure am glad I am in the military right now and I can't be laid off. I really need the insurance right now.

Democrats have had an easy scape goat in Bush for quite a while now. I'm sure not a fan of everything Bush did, but free lunch is over. Obama is the man in charge and the entire system is on his side. He has NO excusses. Anything that goes wrong on his watch is his problem. If Obama doesn't want the job and everything that goes with it, resign!

I totally agree. It's Obama's (and the Democrats') turn to be under the microscope......

yep, there is a serious flaw in health care in our country. its a monopoly, but different, a combo of that and a catch 22. it is absolutely necessary to have insurance. medical bills are insane, even for just routine stuff. so, our only choice is depend on an employer, which can also lead into getting stuck in a job because of it, or what just happened to us, or be on the government aid. something needs to be done about this.

i'm looking at spending $900/month w/ blue cross privately, about the same as her employer after this change, but employer's covereage dropped to hardly anything. cost through employer doubled, and coverage reduced by half, makes sense :banghead:

Absolutely. Every government should be held up to scrutiny over everything. But in all fairness everyone blaming all of societies woes on someone who hasnt even been on the job for 90 days may be a little extreme. Besides, Im sure it will take him at least a year before big bad Obama takes everyones guns and sells us all into slavery

Industry reacts to speculation about the future, future looks very bleak for business with a hardcore socialist in office.
