I have a 12 Rubi with stock BFG AT's 255 75r 17's. I love the stock Rubi wheels. I want to keep the stock tire height of about 32 cuz I don't want to spend another hundo for a speedo recal. I do want a wider tire with same aggressive tread. Also I'd like to stay away from spacers, quite a pickle I'm in. If there is anyone in the whole wide world that could help I'd be thankful.

You could go to a 265/70/17. They are an inch or so wider and just slightly smaller in diameter, about 1/4" if I remember correctly, not enough to worry about the speedo.

It's a popular size tire too, so it's easy to get. That's the size that came on my Dodge Cummins in load range E.

275/70r17 is another choice. Maybe harder to get, and a little larger in diameter. But it should fit without rubbing and only a little error in the speedo.

Can someone else comment ?

Yes! 265/70/17... its 10 millimeters wider...not much. Should match up in height (at least enough to not mess with the spedo) and very common tire size.

Would they fit on the stock 12 Rubi wheel?

I saw some really nice looking 285/70/17 Nitto tires today on some of the Jeeps at the dealership today . They run a respectable 1.2 inches wider and 0.7 taller than a stock rubi wheel . Don't know if they would fit on the stock wheel though .

I had 285/70/17 Cooper AT3's on my stock wheels with no problems.

265/70 17 on ATX Artillery

Here is my '13 JK with 265/70 17 - the ATX Artillery have a different backspacing than your stock wheels so they are pushed out a bit wider...

Hi I am running 265/70R17 too on a V-tec off road wheels with 0 offset. I believe it is 4.75 BS. Not too bad looking.
