Rain = No start, Need Help
I went outside this morning to start the jeep to leave for work and it will not start at all, I cranked it over for a while and then it seemed like it started running on one or two cylinders. I have had trouble starting it before after it has rained but it usually starts up after a few cranks. Is this from a leak in my cowl soaking some part of my ignition?

Hmmm do you live in an area where its been cold, then warmed up with the rain... could be moisture with the ignition or spark plugs.

Does it throw a code or service engine light.... usually can be related to cylinder misfire, had that happen to mine a couple years ago.

If it is a cylinder misfire, then usually need to check or replace the injector.

Hard Starting
Change your Plug Wires, Cap & Rotor. Wet weather if parts are old will cause this.

What year is it? More than likely it is a bad coil wire,cap or rotor button but if it is newer with the distributerless ignition then the first thing I would check is the coil rail for cracks or jumping fire.If checking at night you will actually be able to see blue and yellow arcs of fire jumping from the coil rail(this applies to a cracked distributer cap or a bad coil wire also).Another thing is a few weeks ago I had a customer with similar problems and ended up being bare/worn wires coming out of the computer on the firewall and once wet it shorted the 2 wires together and killed fire to the coil and injectors.Just a few thing to check.

Wet is the problem?

Use a spray bottle filled with water. Spray around the ignition wires, distributor, coil etc. When you hit where it hurts, you'll know you found it.

Certainly not rocket science.

Thanks for the replies, Ill start with the rotor, cap and wires and see if that gets me anywhere, if not then I guess ill change the coil.
