First; awesome site and information resource, first class data for informed decision making. Speaking of which....
I'm currently trying to decide whether to install a Rubicon express 62mm TB or purchase the "edge" TB and programing module. Both are used, the edge seems to have better reviews, but is the module worth an extra $100; my TJ is an auto & I drive 60 miles a day on the highway between 65-80 mph. I hate to mess with the computer, I did a chip upgrade on a BMW a while back and while the "off the line" throttle resopnse was improved I lost hwy mpg & some passing gear responsiveness. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Replacing the stock TB with a 62mm TB won't help since the engine isn't being starved for air with the stock TB... it's already getting enough air so making its "throat" larger won't help at all. I was given a 62mm TB to test and it made no difference. With Edge's kit, it's the module that provides their advertised gain, not their larger TB. Personally I don't think its worth it because it doesn't do much until you're really "on it". :)

Thanks for the insight, I purchased the "edge", TB, computer, and spacer for $300, the previous owner took it off before trading in, seemed like a good deal. Waiting for ups.....if I'm not impressed it'll be on EBay soooonish.

Under the type of throttle body a TJ uses, a spacer does absolutely nothing. Spacers can provide dramatic improvement when under carburetors and the older type throttle-body injection systems but not on the TJ's throttle body that passes only air through it. A spacer under a TJ's throttle body is a 100% waste of money. Really, it won't do a thing except perhaps start an annoying whistle as some of them do. :)

I figure for the cost of a gasket I'll give it a try and see for myself, you are probably right & it will go to "da bay" (EBay), or it will make a nice paperweight, my wife can cut cookies with it, bolt it to the workbench for a beer holder, dog chew toy, etc.
