YJ Clutch issues

I'm in need of some advice regarding my clutch issues. I believe the hydraulics are jacked up. It's a 93 YJ I6. When it's cold it shifts fine but after a few miles it starts to shift hard and reverse is near impossible. It also works great right after I bleed the clutch. I have already replaced the master cylinder. Any advice out there on where to go next? Thanks

FYI there are no leaks and the master isn't low on fluid. Has anyone ever had a issue with the bleeder fitting sucking air?

The bleeder screw can not suck air or leak if it is tight. Your clutch master cylinder may be leaking internally causing your problem.

Replace both master and slave cylinders. You can buy them as a kit and it's an east 15 min job. No bleeding required. It's what I did to mine to solve the same problems.

I replaced the master already and I'm trying avoid changing the slave cylinder since its internal which means I would have to drop the transmission. My thought is that it's not the slave itself since it works fine for the first few miles when it's cold. I think my next step may be to replace the hydro lines from the master down. Thoughts?

If the slave were leaking then I would be low on fluid in the master right? I've been chasing this issue for a week now, I think I may have bad lines.

The line is not going to correct your problem, unless it is cracked, broken and leaking brake fluid.

My understanding is that the line could be sucking air without leaking fluid. Has anyone heard of this?

I know it sounds impossible that is what I experienced. I did the external mod to fix it.

Yeah, that's the route I'm going. I'm tired of chasing a phantom.

Done fixed!
