2003 TJ Rubicon for Sale - Ready to wheel this season! - MI
I am selling my 2003 Jeep Rubicon with 51, 000 miles on it. I am asking $12,500 for it, but am pretty open to cash offers right now. I am in SE Michigan, and would be willing to meet someone within 100 miles for a full-price offer. I will meet further, but it would be on your dime.

The specs are:
  • 4.0L I-6
  • NV3550 Manual Transmission
  • Dana 44 front and rear with air locking differentials and 4.10 gearing.
  • 35x112.50r15 Goodyear MTRs on Rockcrawler steel wheels.

  • 6” Full Traction springs with Rancho 9000 shocks on all 4 corners
  • Stock Full Traction long arms in the front.
  • Wheelbase stretch in the rear by ~ 6” (Total wheelbase is between 98-99”) using modified Full Traction 3 link in the rear.

The body is in fairly good shape with little to no rust.
  • I have installed BlueTorch rocker guards, comp corners, and DIY flat fenders, all painted satin black for easy touch-up.
  • There is a full custom, through the dash, roll cage tied to the frame in 6 places made from 1.75”x0.120” wall DOM tubing, with 1” round gussets/grab handles.
  • The factory softtop still fits over the cage.

Other stuff:
  • RCI fuel cell mounted behind the rear seat, using TJ Ken’s rings and stock fuel pump/sending unit.
  • Crane front differential cover.
  • Warn 9.5ti winch with ZERO pulls.
  • Front trail stinger from KOZ Offroad.
  • Wet Okle seat covers.
Other stuff that I am sure I am forgetting.

If you are looking for specific pictures of anything, ask and I will get them as soon as weather permits.

I hate to see this jeep go, but I've known him since this jeep wasn't half as capable. Someone will be getting a helluva rig for this price.

Thanks Jack, spread the word, I can make arrangements to get it out west if necessary!

is this still good to drive on the road?

Ooooh!! A 5SPD Rubi with some awesome mods. Incredible deal too. Good luck with the sale, this is probably the holy grail of TJs in my opinion, and a steal too. Should be an easy sell. Anyone considering something like this shouldn't hesitate, especially with a recomendation from blkjp.

That's a killer rig and priced well right. I suspect this one won't be around long.

depends what you mean by "good to drive down the road". I do drive in on the freeway a couple times a year, and around where I wheel in Northern Ontario, and it handles fine up to about 75 mph (I am sure it handles fine above that too, but without a reagear, it's hard to go any faster...) It doesn't have any goofy handling characteristics since I stretched it, if anything it handles better than before on the road...

If you are asking if it will pass inspection... It will not. I took out the emmissions canister do to it being a pain to relocate without doing some fab work, whiich I don't have the tools for in my garage. All of the connections were disconnected, not cut and it could be reinstalled in a couple of hours by someone that could weld/fabricate a bit. I don't know what laws are in your state about wheel coverage, but in Michigan they are a bit lax. I was pulled over last year for being "over height", and was 2' UNDER at all measurement points (I knew that when I got pulled over).

If you have any more specific questions, either post here, or feel free to PM me and I will track down answers for you, if I don't know them off the top of my head!

Thank you for looking, and thanks for the vote of confidence Scout and Rubi. :wavey:

How could we get it out west? I live in Utah. What else would it take to make it street legal?

Other than the emissions canister, I think it's all set. You may have to do something to cover the tires, as they stick out quite a bit past the body.

As far as getting it out west, I can definitely help with delivery!
