This is leaking on my 2000 Sport. It is on the drivers side and it is just below the bumper. what is the parts name? What skill level is needed to replace it? Thank you

Looks like the steering box. Could be a seal or a line leaking above. Couldn't tell ya how hard it would be to replace never done one on a jeep but on pathfinder it's not to easy but I'm sure someone with a better answer will come along shortly. Sorry about your leak :(

Something above your steering box could be leaking... If it is the box, replace it with an autozone one. You get a life time warranty with it. So if it breaks, you bring it in and get another.

Yep looks like the steering box. Check out Stus site for a nice writeup on replacing it. Stu Offroad Steering Box Replacement

No. That's how you ruin your steering system.

From someone who has used it, it works. Best case? Probably not but cheaper than a steering box rebuild if he cant afford it. Could just need to remove and seal a hose fitting, but from most of the posts I see on here, and not even knowing what it was, I was offering a quick fix. Lucas Oil stuff works.

Well I haven't had a chance to look deeper not the problem, due to the fact the Jeep has been in the fixing a transmission issue I had not the time to fix. Thank you for the info. Looks like I have a new project.
