New JK owner--head unit upgrade to 430n or DCT or?

Hi all,
Just took home a 2014 JK Sport unlimited two days ago.:)

The one option it didn't have that I wanted was the 430n dvd/nav/usb head unit. The dealer quoted me a whopping $2200 to have that unit installed at the dealership, so I said forget it.

I am looking to find a head unit that will work with the existing steering wheel controls/phone controls, etc. so that I don't lose those amenities.

I've been on Ebay, looks like I can grab a 430n there for about $800-$1000 and it looks to be an install I could probably do myself. My question there would be---are all 430n's the same? If I bought one that came out of a different vehicle (like a Compass or Commander) would it fit into mine and have the same color backlighting on the head unit as the rest of my vehicle?

I've also googled around and found this Wrangler head unit from DCT, which looks enticing due to the $499 price and it's also (allegedly) totally plug and play and states it will work with all of my existing steering wheel buttons. Problem is, I've never heard of this brand; no idea if it would be any good---can't even find a review:
Jeep Compass Commander Grand Cherokee Liberty Patriot Wrangler dvd player w/ gps navigation system

I do want NAV, DVD, Bluetooth, a USB port on the head unit, just like the 430n has. Any other recommendations of different head units that people have that they like in their JK? For now I am going to stick with the crappy stock speakers, just want to start with the head unit and go from there later...

Oh, and FWIW I have an iPhone 4, so I want that to work via bluetooth like it does with the stock head unit I have now. Actually I'm not sure if that is tied into the stereo or is a separate entity. My JK does have the connectivity group option obviously.

Thanks for any advice! Love my new Wrangler!!

I encourage you to not waste you money on an OEM unit that is inferior technology and inferior sound and grossly overpriced. You could do a full stereo upgrade including amps, speakers and sub for $2200 and have an outstanding system..

Look at top of the line aftermarket units from Kenwood, Alpine and Pioneer. All of which will have considerable better sound, superior features and look at home in your JK dash. I am using Pioneer's top of the line DVD double din without Nav and it even has a detachable face for when I leave my Jeep parked topless and without doors.

I agree with the Mattk11. Go after market.

Thanks for the input!

Trust me, I's rather go aftermarket and save $$ but I want all the buttons I have on my steering wheel and via bluetooth through my phone to still function.

Were you guys able to make this happen? If so, what specific head unit did you buy? Model #?

Thanks!!!

Those buttons will work using the PAC adaptor.
