Umm, yeah why did they?

What a hunk of crap, almost as much trouble as Chrysler's lean-burn computer connector!:crash:

I can remember my neighbor trying to stop his AMC eagle, from leaking out the plastic valve cover gasket. After like six tries, he discovered there was an aluminum one available.:banghead:

jpdocdave 04-19-2009 05:27 PM

be glad you don't have a 4 banger, i think no one has found an aluminum cover for it, only plastic.

87YJWrangler 04-20-2009 04:34 PM

Quadratec I think has one

jpdocdave 04-20-2009 04:54 PM

not that it matters here, but every time i've tried to help someone look, only plastic ones for the 4 banger, quadratec and all. hopefully they get one available, but not that long ago, only plastic anywhere.

87YJWrangler 04-21-2009 12:28 AM

Dude that is dumb, I still dont understand the plastic bit I mean really plastic on a engine component as important as that?

87YJWrangler 08-06-2009 02:26 PM

Well I got my old one off and a used plastic one back on, it shoots oil like its pissing water, my buddy's uncle has an aluminum one so it might be road trip time for us that way I can get that seal it up tight and finally drive the damn thing

daddyjeep 08-06-2009 10:08 PM

I got an aluminum one from 4wheel drive hardware. There are a few other places out there selling them. They go for about $100.
