I found a Used OME lift on Craigslist and wanted to know if you guys think that a good deal and what questions to ask the seller.. it is a 3" lift kit for $600 . Seller said it only has 5000 miles on it .. he took of his TJ when he bought a jk (his loss ;) and has been sitting in his garage for 3 years because he was planning on building another tj but has changed his mind on that.. any input will be helpful..

I like the adjustable track bars. But if you put that lift on your jeep you will get drivetrain vibrations as it doesn't include a Tcase drop... So you would need to buy washers or get an SYE

There are also 4 plastic spacers that are missing from this kit. And the bumpstop extensions too.

Personally I would buy a new kit from here:

For $230 more and you also get a steering damper...

Then just use the track bar bracket on the back and buy a new one for the front.

It might be a little more expensive but it might pay off in the long run. I love my OME kit.

I'd ask him which coils(springs) are they...931, 942, 933,etc. Also ask him what all mods he had on the TJ that he used the kit on...aftermarket bumpers, winch, tire carrier, soft top or hardtop. That should give you a good idea if it'll be a good ride for you or if you'll need to buy different coils to better suit your application.

FYI: the track bars both appear to be old generation JKS. the rear is ok, but the poly bushings wear out fast, and the clearance with exhaust & such aren't very great through the suspension cycle. the front will actually hit your stock diff cover without 2" of bumpstop extension....its much worse with aftermarket covers.

OME makes good springs and shocks. I've been running them for a few years and love em. If you decide to go the new route, check out DPG Off-Road. He offers pretty good package deals.

And just to be clear, OME suspension systems give 2-2.5 inches of lift.

Yup, that's not a 3" lift.
