Best Mod and Worst Mod

Ok, I borrowed this idea from another site but it looks like fun. :D

Post up your best mod to your Jeep and the worst mod. Hopefully this might help someone before they venture into the black hole  of aftermarket Jeep products.

My best :) : ORO U-Turn Steering System. Expensive as hell - but know that I've eliminated all the scaryness from my steering I feel like I can drive it over 20 mph without killing myself.

Worst mod :( : IPF 968 Lights. I think I've only turned them on once.

Best for Me: TeraLow and Lockers.

Worst for Me: Suspension system I chose to go with.

jeeperman 09-14-2006 07:37 PM

Best mod: Long arm kit

Worst Mod: Heavy rear tire carrier/bumper (will be replacing it this winter after only 18 months on the truck...)

JeepGuyLJ 09-14-2006 11:23 PM

the best modes for my jeep are my airraid intake and a new steering stabilizer which is alot better than my stock one. Dont have a bad mod.

SurfnSnow 09-14-2006 11:38 PM

Best: Currie Anti-Rock
Worst: corners that are for a swb and not the unlimited (will be getting the poison spyder or tomken crusher corners to replace those soon)

Had a shop called "Koz Offroad" build it for me, kinda custom. I like the functionality of it, it has recessed reverse lights, carries a CO2 tank, my highlift, mounts the CB antennae... But kills my departure angle. I will be building a rear stinger similar (probably as close as I can bend) to the Poison Spyder rear stinger. It will be significantly lighter and higher than the one that I have now...

04moneypit 09-15-2006 03:00 PM

Best: Lift, tires, front Tru Trac and gears. Oh and alloy axles.
Worst: Rear detroit locker (too choppy on pavement) rather have an ox locker.

Absolute Offroad 09-15-2006 10:54 PM

Best Mod: crushing my XJ and buying a TJ.
Worst Mod: I dont really know, my junk is stock.....well nearly stock.....:)

Joe

I need one of those! :D

YellowRubiU 10-04-2006 07:55 PM

Worst: Westin nerf bars - they hung so low that it made a civic look like it had more clearance than I did. Only thing good about them was that it was easier for my wife and kids to get in the rig :D

Best: ripping off the above and replacing it with Shrockworks rocker guards.

03Leo 10-04-2006 08:28 PM

Best: 2" lift and shocks (getting new tires soon) and Alpine sound system.
Worst: Installing new vinyl flooring kit by myself - can't wait till next summer to replace it.
I want a Wrangler Forum logo too!

I do, they are well made, extend all the way to the frame rails underneath, have drain holes that perfectly align with the ones on the tub and pretty easy to install.

I think I need to add another best mod, that would be my head light upgrade. With the days getting shorter and the nights longer I'm finally getting my Jeep out past sundown and I had forgotten how much better the replacements are than the factory lights. (My Jeep is not my DD).

Best Mod # 2: Head light upgrade!
