I fear no pitman arm!!!

After a long, greasy day I have finally finished installing a 99' Durango steering box into my jeep. And is totally worth the battle. A $75 dollar part from a junk yard and a few new ratchets ( i broke 4 3/8 drivers removing the arm) the truck is running great. I was amazed the difference it made. This is the first upgrade of any steering component ive done and I fully recomend it to anyone who has a leak in their stock box. If you dont mind huffing PB blaster for 2 or 3 days... This link was perfect. every step, and size tool was right on. good luck..

Cool, glad it worked out for you. :punk:

Maybe you could do a write up for WF. :D

is this a noticeable upgrade, like a different ratio, or is it just strength? my box is starting to leak and i was thinking of rebuilding it but theres a durango sitting in the junk yard. would a box out of a durango/dakota sport model be better?

i'm interested to hear his first hand review of the difference. it is supposed to have less turns lock to lock, tighter and more responsive, and its stronger.

so according to the write up link, this is pretty much a direct bolt on mod, meaning theres no fabrication of the box or mounting points to make it fit. Am I correct??

yes there is a ratio difference. If I remember correctly it's 3 turns lock to lock instead of 3.5.

Now you are going to need to upgrade the rest of the steering. :D
