Tires/suspension question....
 
First off I like my 33's, but I want something bigger and want to know if 35's would fit under my 3.5" lift? I'm assuming it would be fine, but I just want to get opinions from somebody who might be running 35's. Secondly, I want to get wheel spacers for a little clearance between my springs and tires when I turn the steering wheel all the way. Do spacers put any added stress on the bearings or any other components of the suspension?

What back spacing do your wheels have? If you have between 3.75 and 4.25 backspacing everything should clear at full turn. You can also add some washers to the steering stops to keep it from rubbing if you are worried about it.

Besides that I am not an advocate of wheel spacers on a daily driven rig. I run them on my rig, but it's a trail rig only. If you do decide to run them then use an impact gun and red loctite to put them on and re-check them often.

Your second question is a yes that 35's will fit on a 3.5" lift. You'll need to adjust your bump stops to make sure they don't rub in the fenders when they are stuffed. You could also add either a spacer or a 1" body lift to give you a little more clearance.

Honestly I couldn't tell you what back spacing my wheels have.

As far as the spacers go, is that the only reason why you wouldn't run themon a dd rig (because they might loosen)? I believe they come with Loctite.

Ok I figured the 35'swould fit under my lift. When you say stuffed, do you mean when the suspension is under full load and the wheels are up in the wheel well?

That's definitely enough of a concern if you loose a wheel on the freeway at 70. :D

Yes that's what I'm referring to when I say stuffed in the wheel well.

No kidding, getting to 70 is a rare feat in a Jeep. But thats not why we buy them afterall. :D
