Hey guys. been using your forum to do some research. figured id Post up and say hi.
Im working in Saudi Arabia now but when I return I'm getting a Rubicon. Ive had some kind of jeep since 2002. At one point while stationed in alaska i had 4 cherokees in different states of build. Nothing huge just 4in lift with welded rear gear. Then I sold all of the heeps and bought a truck so i could have something reliable that would actually tow all my (read new wifes) house hold stuff down the alcan highway. Well she had a PT (married into it and hated it) she decided to get something new. I got her talked into a liberty and now that this job is paying great and my truck is payed for shes gonna let me get a new toy.
Ive got some time to look and price isnt really a issue but im not gonna overpay. im looking for Rubicon. i want the 44s and the gearing cause first thing first its getting a 4in lift and a winch. i wanna run 33s. and it has to be a manual. been looking and i got some time to keep looking so ill find my dream jeep.
my question is... the v6 jeeps they look wrong but are they worth a damn. ive had lots of experience with the I6 and love it. and other than electric sway bar releases i really don't see any benefit to the new jeep. but when i get back it might be the only thing i can get ahold of. i wont buy a jeep with over 30k and mods. im doing everything myself. i think the v6 just isnt right but is it more effective. and the fender flares are horrible. id have to get a black one so they dont stick out so bad.
