procomp 6in long travel
 
i just bought a 05 Tj and i am looking into long travel lift kits. does anyone know if the 6in procomp long travel lift kit with the fox shocks is worth the money?

I have the Dual Sport 4" Long Arm Suspension. It is the same lift. It is nice for a day to day driver. If you go off road for big rocks not so good. Mud love it. It drives like a stock jeep on high way and back roads.

Not so fast! How much money are you talking about. There may be a much better system than that for less money or equal money if nothing else. Mine is a rubicon express long arm and it rides so much better than stock that there is no comparison.

As stated look around at other options. To me pro comp is more of a 4th or 5th pic in the lift world.

30-284-I agree with you RE is one of the best. But the 4.5 Rubicon's Long Arm Tri-Link system is the same price with out shocks. And Welding Required too. If he is doing this on his own then no, if he is paying a shop to do then go with the best. So all in all it is what you do with your jeep if you go off road all the time for work and play RE is the way, if you drive to work by the high way then no. But it his money. I have a Atlas ll in my jeep some people say I'm nuts. My next lift will be the 5.5 long arm tri-link system.

ProComp would be my dead-last choice among all the viable Jeep suspension lift manufacturers so far as I am concerned. And that's having been with ProComp's parent company where we had to push them. I'd look at Rubicon Express, Full-Traction, JKS, Currie, BDS, even Skyjacker or Rough Country (neither of which I'm a fan of) before I'd let anyone install a ProComp suspension lift onto my TJ.

Saint, welding of RE's long-arm kit is not required. It has sleeves for the frame control arm mount sleeves that can be tack-welded into place but they dont require welding... it's strictly optional. I have an RE long arm kit on my TJ and while I did weld those sleeves in, the instructions make it clear that doing so is optional. :)

I have heard that Full Traction makes great long arm lifts, but that is from other members on the board not personal experience.

I am personally looking at the clayton long arm upgrade kit because I already have springs and shocks etc.

Dead last. Rough Country is cheap and Skyjacker is too expensive for what you get.

Gotcha, that's certainly a valid opinion. I was just wondering if it was about the RE LA's welding needs. :)

I looked at RE I want to do it but it was not right for me at that time. But my next lift will be RE.
