can you sell parts on this site?

can you put up parts to sell on here... i dont want to list anything untill i get some input. i know its not craigs list

KBR97 06-15-2009 08:47 PM

there is a for sale and wanted section. Scroll further down on the homepage. And read the rules or the mods will delete if you dont obey!!:bottom: lol

jgano23 06-15-2009 08:52 PM

there is a for sale/wanted section but you have to reach 15 posts before you can access that section. they have that rule to keep spammers from posting and to make sure that people are not using this site only for selling their stuff. it is pretty easy to get to 15 posts, just look around in the threads and post your thoughts, opinions, or advise. it is a great forum, just hang around a while and you'll see. btw, welcome :wavey:

Thanks, we're not craigslist. They allow icky stuff to be listed. ;) But WF does have a for sale section for the use of it's members. Like J said, we require a minimum of 15 posts for a user to have access to posting in the area.

When a thread is posted we have only two requests which have nothing to do with obeying the moderators. The requests, location in the thread title and price on the body of the first post, are for ease of use of the section for our members.

Hope's a waste of time when the simple act of reading the stickies will suffice.

you replied awfully fast, either nothing else going on or your still up my ass. really i dont care since i wont be posting in precious classifieds anymore. I better read the stickies in the yj forum before i try to help anyone.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 05:59 PM

Or, you're still all butthurt about your inability to comprehend the rules in the for sale section.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 06:05 PM

I don't file your threads into my memory so you'll have to look that one up, if indeed you are still feeling the sting.

I believe you said i posted someone elses and not my own. Well the rules are that i cannot post on behalf of a business. ok, i can see that since one craigslist ad had a business name attached. but then you removed my other one siting it wasnt mine. and to top it off you personally added to the sticky no craigslist items after you deleted it. Thanks for the clear stickies and rules as we go attitude and the above post "Or, you're still all butthurt about your inability to comprehend the rules in the for sale section." which shows your attitude.
BTW, howd you become a moderator? donated more than others? is there a stikie for it?

And from the rules....

Quote:

Classifieds Use: Our classifieds system is offered as a benefit of membership, no commercial sales are permitted. We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.

* Include the state (or country if applicable) from which you will be selling in the title of the thread
* Place only one ad per item - do not post or repost an ad in more than one section of the classifieds.
* Do not place ads directing others to an e-bay or other online sale or directing others to another website.
* Ads may be removed by our staff at any time for any reason.
And ding ding ding, we have a winner. And yes, I paid to be a moderator so I can deal with people who feel they're being abused and their rights are being curtailed on a free internet forum and also hang onto it like a dog waiting for the chance to toss out a snide little comment because when they weren't involved in a thread to begin with. It was REALLY expensive, but I did it specifically for those people.

Now, if you don't mind letting it go, I have other people to lord over and delete.

dooder 06-18-2009 06:27 PM

but you said we can post craigslist ads and i have one in pa section which you let fly.
http://www.wranglerforum.com/showpos...38&postcount=3
why in pa section and not where it belongs in the classifieds section?

btw, next time spend your money on your jeep and not the right to deal with jerks like me.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 06:29 PM

Want me to delete it? I will. No problem.

Next time let it go and stop whining about something which has no impact on your life.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 06:39 PM

If you have a problem with any of the moderators, including me, please feel free to PM 1BLKJP or Janet H. And please try to get over your butthurt. As entertaining as it is for others to read, I really feel a twinge of remorse that you're so sad over getting a couple of threads deleted.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 06:50 PM

Again, please PM Jack or Janet with your issues. Thanks.

thats ok, im no snitch but im sure you or another mod will let them know what went on here. so have at it.

jgano23 06-18-2009 07:21 PM

dooder, take a deep breath and relax :). i know you're upset but going at it with a mod is not going help your case. you need to understand that the mods did not maliciously delete your thread to upset you. sometimes people will completely disregard the rules and post against the guidelines and sometimes people just miss the rules. there are a lot of threads and posts to moderate and it seems like it would be easier to delete those threads rather than trying to differentiate between mistake and disregard. this is a great forum and i don't want to see you go or banned. :)

KBR97 06-18-2009 08:22 PM

WTH happen to this thread, lol. It all started from poking a little fun with the the new guy Seth (o.p.).

Anyway, On a side note why is linking to Ebay or Craiglist, ect not allowed? Serious question, just curious.

tiny terror 06-18-2009 08:28 PM

Linking to eBay or Craigslist is ok for poking fun, it's ok in moderation in the locals once in a great while, but as a habit or in the for sale section, no. If you found a good deal, odds are the members here know how to work the internet also and can find it if they want it. We don't want the forum cluttered up with craigslist or eBay finds because you've nothing better to do than surf the net for bargins. The for sale area is a perk for our members to sell their items. For eBay and Craigslist, members can mix in Google.

I have no issue with the moderation here on WF so there is no reason for me to PM Janet or Jack at the moment. But thanks anyway.

KBR97 06-18-2009 08:34 PM

Yea thats makes sense. But really I meant , Is it ok, or not ok to post a link of something you are selling on your own. Not just some random stuff, your own items?

We would rather you took the time to physically post the ad here. If it's just a link to an ad on another site, no, it'll be canned.

KBR97 06-18-2009 08:39 PM

Ok, I did that last time..I posted the add here but also threw the link in at the bottom for the hell of it.
