Left blinker stays on?
Every time I am slowing down and I need to shift down my left blinker will turn on until I shift. It doesn't blink, just stays on. Is this normal? The newbie with some questions. Thanks.

Ok so it doesn't turn off when I shift down it turns off when I take my foot off the brake. It seems to come on only when I am coming to a stop and have my foot on the brake. Any thoughts?

Turn signal switch is bad/worn out.

But can also be a ground wire for the lights....check the grounds and clean them up.

check the socket... change it out and fill it with dielectric grease

left tail light has a bad ground. probably coroded. when you use the brakes and the brake light goes on it has no ground so it is grounding throught the turn signal circuit. common jeep problem. Take the left tail light off the Jeep and clean the ground points and use dielectric grease on them before you re install:D

Mine does the same thing. I was told that it is the turn signal switch, but Parrot head's idea makes sense too and its cheaper then buying a turn signal switch. So go with that one first.

It sounds like the turn signal switch is getting tired and not returning quite all the way back to center after completing a turn. Next time this happens, try giving the turn signal lever a nudge away from its left-turn position back towards center and see if the problem doesn't go away. This is pretty common really, it happened to my TJ and replacing the turn signal switch permanently cured the problem. :)

If it turns out to be the blinker switch...let us know and we can also walk you through the install.

The switch is $45 at Autozone.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will check the ground first. Hopefully this rain we keep getting stops so I can get a chance to work on it. :crash: Still haven't had a chance to take the hard top off and put on the soft top. :banghead:
