Muons have any experience with the bfg krawler kx? 35x13.50x15

BFG's Krawler was designed to be one of the best, if not the best, rock crawling tire made. I don't know how you intend to use it but it's an outstanding very rugged & aggressive tire for extreme terrain. I wouldn't consider it for a Jeep that sees a lot of street use though.

Thanks for the Info and I was going between the 35x13.50x15 bfg krawler kx and the maxxis creepy crawlers 35x14.50x15 and I loves the creepy crawlers but I would like to get a radial instead of bias ply tire. So do the bfgs last longer on the road Than the maxxis?

They're really not made for the road... The BFG Km2's look almost identical are cheeper. Are an excellent tire and would be better if you're not basically trailering your jeep to the trail. Should get 40k miles out of them. Handle awesome offroad on all terrain and service quite well on pavement. I have them.

They are almost identical ... But they don't come in a 13.50 or 14.50 and I have bfg all terrains now 35x12.50x15 I want something a little wider

A tire wider than 12.5" wider is usualy counterproductive. Not to mention the wider the tire, the slower you have to drive in rain and the worse it does on snow-covered streets. I wouldn't run a set of tires wider than 12.5" if they were given to me... a 35x12.50 is a good size choice which is why it is more common.

The only time I'd want something wider than 12.5" is if my TJ was going to be romping through deep offroad snow or deep mud. And then ONLY if I could trailer my Jeep everywhere.

And if it rains much where you live, you'd soon learn all about hydroplaning on wet streets. The wider the tire, the worse it is for hydroplaning and the slower the speed it will start hydroplaning at. Think water ski vs. snow ski.

Bottome line? I personally wouldn't run a 13.5" or 14.5" wide tire if they were given to me... I'll stick with my 35x12.50's. :)

Yea I live in Florida and I already hydroplane with 12.50's but ok thank you for all the info

Because I like a the look of the tire and the fact that They have side lugs and theirs some hard clay around me and theirs some rocks you just gotta find them

It's a +$400 tire. There has got to be a less expensive more asphalt friendly tire that fits your criteria.

Interco SS SSR radial in 35x10.5 tire......$325 Very good road tire in comparison.........

I lived in Florida for five (of the longest) years (of my life). You can set your watch to the constant barrage of afternoon downpours.

And everything the other 49 states say about the horrible drivers in Florida is 100% true. I covered fatal car wrecks on a weekly basis. Almost all of them were the result of poor decisions.

Please take the advice others are giving you seriously.

Yes they are expensive but the jeep is not my daily driver and I would be driving it to and from Trails and out and about on the weekends

I love the BFG Krawler but it's not the tire I would select for Florida's wheeling conditions.

Hey Jerry, I live in PA (in the farthest east town in PA). I'm torn between the bfg all terrains and the km2's. I'm looking mostly at mild wheeling (hopefully by the time they wear out ill be ready for something more aggressive) in mud that wont be too extreme and they will definitely see some trails. What's really making this hard for me is that I am an avid skier and I need one that will perform well in (usually) no more than 3 foot at a maximum depth. Basically, it just needs to be able to make it up snow covered access roads.

At ko's are the better choice.....its not even close.

I had the km2s on both my xjs and loved them. Never had a problem in snow or anything. Great tire and lasted me a while. My vote km2s

Compared to the BFG AT's they are nowhere near as good. And the KM2's get bad really quick in snow when the tread starts to wear. I've run both tires, for what the OP wants the AT's are his best choice.

No where near as good? I disagree. I've driven in that 3 ft of snow the op is talking about and never had a problem. Pulled out a guy in that same snow storm who was running the all terrains. Just my opinion I think all terrains are not that much different then a regular tire. But that's just me. I was just giving the op MY experience with the tires

Well when you get experience with BOTH tires, you will have a different view altogether. The AT's IMO are better in snow and wet conditions, and significantly better averaged over the life of the tire, especially when you pay close attn. to air pressure(AT KO's are more sensitive than most tires when it comes to psi used) KM2's are great in mud, and very good in snow too when they are brand new. But once they start to wear a bit, their performance goes down fast. Everyone I run with up in my neck of the woods where there is ALOT more snow than in PA. states the same thing.

In all honesty if the OP wants a tire that excels for both mud and snow, then look at the MT/R from Goodyear. Nowhere near as good as the BFG AT for on road manners and performance, but its better off road in sever conditions no question.

For roads with lighter coatings of snow or ice, the more sipes the better so between the AT & MT, I'd go AT.

I would only go for an MT in DEEP snow.

I have been thinking about them. What's the life of the tire like in terms of how many miles i can expect to get out of them vs ko at's?

Life of MT/Rs? Having owned three sets of them, I think I'm getting somewhere around 45-50k mile out of them. I'm not so sure I'd think of them as a snow tire though.

It sounds like OP is looking for a tire that above all else looks rad. If you wanna drop the coin buy the krawlers. Best offroad tire out there. King of the hammers jeeps use them a lot. But the stats are pointing you towards the km2's. drive safe and they shouldn't hinder you on wet roads. And they work fine in moderate snow if you know how to drive. Snow days are my favorite in lubbock.
