Having severe bump steer
 
2005 wrangler X inline 6 6 speed 6" lift with 35" tires

I am having severe bump steer. When I hit a bump about 30 mph the front end feels like it is about to come clear out from under the truck. I just about can't hold onto the steering wheel. I just got it out of the dealership and they put a new steering stabilizer on it.

The jeep has a 6" lift and 35" tires...

Any ideas?

Hmmm, with 6" of lift, are you using a Drop Pitman Arm, Adj. Front Trackbar and Drop Trackbar Bracket????

Typically with that size of lift need to make sure the steering geometry is somewhat parallel.

Yeah, it would really help if you can shoot a picture from the front of the rig so we can see what we are looking at. Depending on the lift manufacturer there are numerous things it could be.

What you're experiencing does not sound like bump steer, it sounds like you're actually experiencing something else entirely which is commonly known as "Death Wobble". DW is where the front end starts oscillating/shaking so violently that you nearly lose control, your vision often blurs from the violent shaking, other vehicles notice it and get out of your way, and the only way to stop it is to slow down to a stop, or at least a near-stop.

Bump steer is when the steering wheel is bumped left/right as you drive over a bump/dip in the road. That is caused by a steering system geometry issue, usually from having installed a dropped Pitman arm.

DW on the other hand is usually caused by a combination of things. Most commonly, it is triggered by an imperfectly balanced tire. The bigger the tire and taller the lift, the more critical that perfect tire balance becomes in preventing DW. So while an imperfectly balanced tire is a common trigger of DW, hitting a bump/dip in the road is another common trigger. Once triggered, it can develop into full-blown DW if there is also something loose in the front-end. This is commonly a too-loose trackbar (it may seem tight if only pushed/pulled by hand but it usually is not tight enough regardless), loose ball joints, loose control arm, shocks, bad front-end alignment, etc.

So if your problem is VIOLENT and shocking to experience, it's likely Death Wobble. If the steering wheel just briefly shifts left/right while driving over bumps or dips in the street, then that is bump steer. The two are totally different and unrelated problems. :)
