MD inspection

same issue. have a lifted Rubi Unlimited and just moved back to Maryland and need to get it through inspection... any1 have some stock wheels/tires i could borrow... i'm in Cecil County.
always thought it was tires couldn't stick out past the fenders, the guy i went to is saying as long as they don't pass the plain of 45% from the fender to ground... but that i would have to put mud flaps on, because the fender is supposed to come down equal to half way through the wheel... ????????
i'm guessing best bet is to go w/stock wheels/tires and not deal w/either issue.

also, is a 3rd light required??

thanks in advance.

As a Maryland inspector I can tell you once you lift it you are kind of screwed. From the factory the the jeep wouldn't pass 45 degrees. But once you lift it they have an excuse to fail it. If it came with a 3rd brake light it needs one. Where are you located?

Doesn't matter where it's registered. If you drive it in Md, it has to follow Md laws.

Thats true as far as things like doors off and such goes. But with bumper height/lift laws and tire size and emissions and all that jazz that gets inspected. They cant do anything to me. I have been running fenderless now for over a year and have been pulled over a couple times and questioned about it and everytime after showing them that I was registered in GA they told me to have a good day and they left. I even got pulled over by a post cop that can write a ticket for any state and he told me that he would get back to me about my fenders because he could only write me a ticket if it was illegal in GA. He has yet to pull me over again or "get back to me" Because its not illegal.

The thing with md is when you register your vehicle you have a md inspection done and done 1 time. Unless you get an inspection tickets from the police then you have to have the vehicle inspected for what the ticket is for say its a light out you fix it and inspector looks at it and it done.md does have lifts laws and the police have more important things to do then look for lifted jeeps. I got pulled over last july 4th around 11 pm with no doors top off and was asked have you been drinking and I don't so the next was you don't have a tag lite cause I don't and got a warning ticket for the lite not the 6" lift and 35" tires

If by unlimited you mean JKU (4 door) then I have the stock brake light too so you should be covered on that if they give you problems.
