i can get better pics tomorrow. those are off my phone.

the tire doesnt budge and no more shaking on the freeway!!!!!!

4Jeepn 07-26-2009 09:08 AM

looks good, can you put the rear window down based on where the tire is sitting?

Rawkon 07-26-2009 12:30 PM

its gonna be close. we built it off the LOD bumper so it swings out and can be swapped back to the LOD swing carrier in a couple minutes for the rare cold days in so cal.

If it were me, I'd remove the back seat and flip the carrier around. But I like it, very cool.

Rawkon 07-26-2009 11:13 PM

I thought about putting it inside, but then id loose all bed space for anything else. im just happy i can see out my rear view mirror and no shaking going on back there from our wonderful so cal freeways. I use to have to ratchet strap the tire carrier to the roll cage so it wouldnt smash my tailgate. and ues i had it all adjusted properlly

Rawkon 07-26-2009 11:29 PM

All painted up

Understandable, and I love the pre-runner aspect of it.

Moltar 08-11-2009 03:41 AM

Thats sick, what rear bumper are you running? Warn or an ebay one?

Rawkon 08-24-2009 09:40 PM

the lower is a LOD extreme tire carrier and I built the upper section with a couple friends

Nice job with the tire carrier. Have you ever thought about building and selling one for other people?

Rawkon 09-05-2009 03:08 PM

Thanks man, yea ive thought about it and for me its too much liability. Im game for making stuff for friends and thats it.

I like it, i have been looking at making my own or purchasing one. How well does the top work with it on?

Rawkon 09-20-2009 01:49 AM

my hard top still fits, but with the tail gate off the glass wont stay closed and i dont want to find out the hardway..

Im in so cal so all summer and most of "winter" ill run like this. I can swap back to my LOD upper half in a matter of minutes. for the rare cold days or snow runs :punk:

tlrrob1000 09-20-2009 11:39 PM

I want one. I want it. Liability??? I'll sign a waiver. If not do you have the deminsions and I'll have my buddy fab me one.

Rawkon 09-21-2009 12:17 AM

do you already have a rear tire carrier besides stock?

AzTJ 09-21-2009 12:21 AM

Out of curiosity... would a 37" tire fit like that? I like the idea of a half-cab and the spare riding like that and still having some room in the tub for supplies and spare parts.

Rawkon 09-21-2009 01:36 AM

AZ i really doubt a 37 would fit. I think a 35 would barealy fit.
I thought you were on 33s?

Have a more dune buggy look compared to the standard one that stands up don't it?

Rawkon 09-21-2009 03:47 PM

alot of buggy jeeps i see running around use the rear part of the roll cage to put the tire on. the only downside is when you need to reverse you cant see crap.

I'm only on 32's... but I'm thinking in long term. When my TJ is paid for in the next few months I'm going to get a little commuter car and start a project on the TJ. Axle, tires and tube work. :D

I love the pre-runner look to it with the tire hanging low and out back, but I'm thinking of jumping up to 37's with new axles. If the tire were to sit up a bit more you think one would fit though? Your's is just resting on that bar behind the rear seat right?

4point 09-21-2009 03:53 PM

I'm not positive, but I think Scout carries his 36" in the back.
