New to me 06 LJ Rubicon 37K issues....

I was out today on a longer trip in my 06 Rubicon and I am now relizing there are issues... Or what I think are issues.... HELP! Is it me or is it just a Jeep?

1) AC blows hard in the 4th position but in the 1st three positions if I am on the freeway they all blow lightly and the same amount. If I am going slow or stopped they do not blow at all. What is the problem? This can not be normal.

2) Passanger seatbelt does not catch. That should be a safety issue and covered by Jeep?

3) I had thrown my day planner on the floor behind the passenger seat and when I went to get it after m drive (30 minutes on the freeway) it was hotter then hot and I burned my hand on the buckle. I felt the carpet and it is VERY VERY HOT. Is this normal?

Is this my welcome into the Jeep world? Not what I had envisioned... :banghead:

I like to keep my take out food either in the front of the passenger seat or behind it when the carpet is out. :) It's normal, the front carpet has heat shielding but not the rear carpets.

Lemme know what you find out about the A/C issue. My '05 X acts similary, though not to the degree you describe. I suspect it's a vacuum and/or vent directional door issue. My blower is working, it's just usually stuck blowing the air at my feet or our the defroster on top of the dash. It does not seem to like the setting where it blows out the a/c vents. The air it does blow out is ice cold.

The ac issue could be the switch it self when its going bad only the high speed works well.

Seat belt, dealer.

Hot floors, normal.. you can add some heat shielding if you want.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor issue. Search for it on the forums alot of post on it. Seat Belt will be a dealer issue, you may check first and make sure noting is cuaght in the mechanism like the belt folded over itself, or dirt/debris sometime sthat can cuase it to not catch correctly. Heat sounds like a common issue unless you have some sort of restriction in the exhaust pipes, look under it at when it is hot. I had an issue with my Audi one time where the cat was plugged and it was actually getting very hot and glowing red.

Dealer notes

1) AC blows hard in the 4th position but in the 1st three positions if I am on the freeway they all blow lightly and the same amount. If I am going slow or stopped they do not blow at all. What is the problem? This can not be normal. Dealer said it is in fact the resistor blower motor and is replacing it on my extended warranty.

2) Passanger seatbelt does not catch. That should be a safety issue and covered by Jeep? Dealer was able to get Chrysler to stand up and fix the seatbelt as a customer satisfaction issue - THANKS to Glenn Thomas Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, Tom the service manager and to Chrysler

3) I had thrown my day planner on the floor behind the passenger seat and when I went to get it after m drive (30 minutes on the freeway) it was hotter then hot and I burned my hand on the buckle. I felt the carpet and it is VERY VERY HOT. Is this normal? Dealer also said this is normal... I may have to get some heat shield and install it... Any thoughts on what to use?
