got rocks?

We have a hideous cement and rock and cinder block thing in the backyard that at some stretch of the imagination was supposed to be a waterfall I assume. A few days ago, with my trusty pickax and sledge hammer, I proceeded to remove this monument to bad landscaping skills.

First day, I knocked a couple rocks off of the top and there it was, a honeycomb. But not the kind you see on the cartoons with all the nice yellow honey and smiling bees. No, these were pissed off bees who decided I needed to go away.

Luckily, they packed up their little bee bags and moved on, so I began the demolition again and now we have rocks. Lots of really nice rocks.

I had wanted to take all the remnants of this atrocity to my dad's place, but the rocks aren't so bad. Think big river stones only not as flat.

We need ideas for what to do with them. Our back yard is almost blank slate with only a few trees (two olives, one nectarine, and a brazilian pepper) but it's not huge.

What shall we do with our rocks?

stevens243 08-05-2009 01:37 AM

Paint them like puppies and sell them. There just may be a market.

RatherBNarizona 08-05-2009 01:38 AM

BLOW THEM UP!

or throw them at salesmen who come to your door!

I was thinking something more along the line of an outdoor bar...

Better idea

In ground pool with a true "WET" Bar in it. :)

tiny terror 08-05-2009 01:51 AM

Yard's not big enough for a pool. I was also thinking raised planting beds or columns for a pergola.

john's ct jeep 08-05-2009 08:11 AM

are we invited over for drinks when you finish the bar?

Duh! Wheel them!

jdhallissey 08-05-2009 12:20 PM

Make a true water fall with them.

birdhunter 08-05-2009 02:02 PM

I would do a large BBQ grill with a smoker
maybe a pizza (bread)oven like in spain and Italy

lots of work but in wouldnt hurt on resale

whiteyj 08-05-2009 02:28 PM

Did I hear the bar was open?:)

jdhallissey 08-05-2009 02:50 PM

Whiteyj you mean free open bar is open right? hehe :D I am on my way wont be to hard to find there house just follow the badass jeep around til it parks!

activelydying 08-05-2009 03:07 PM

You could use them to make a enclosure for the ducks.

tiny terror 08-05-2009 03:09 PM

I have no ducks.... :( But there is a knocked up kitty cat back there hanging about.

activelydying 08-05-2009 03:13 PM

A new addition?

4Jeepn 08-05-2009 03:48 PM

not sure how big they are, but could you use them to make a planter of some kind?

tiny terror 08-05-2009 04:05 PM

Some are about the size of ostrich eggs, others the size of bowling balls.

ygohome 08-05-2009 06:29 PM

can you take a picture and show us the rocks to give us an idea of how many and their size. makes a diffference on what you can do with them. build a tiny alter... or build a wall to keep out illegals. so many great ideas

Okay so make an astrich nest display and a bowling alley.. there problem solved!

payj90 08-05-2009 09:18 PM

Stonehenge, You just have to square them up and make them a little bigger.

jgano23 08-05-2009 09:21 PM

pile them up and take poser shots.

Sb5551 08-05-2009 09:43 PM

You can throw them at people that use bad grammar.

JDsDream 08-05-2009 10:10 PM

you can launch them at the neighbor when he cranks up the weedeater at 7am on Sunday Morning.

turdhurdler 08-05-2009 10:15 PM

Take them with you go wheeling so you can stack them if you get stuck.

Really, if you want to get rid of them, I have seen ads posted on craigslist of people looking for river rock. Have them come and pick it up. If you wish to keep them, I like the bbq/smoker ideal.

Jeff

keep them? the people who come get the rocks?

turdhurdler 08-05-2009 10:28 PM

Maybe what I posted was confusing. If they do not really want to keep the rocks, place an ad on craigslist. If wishing to keep them, go with the bbq.

Jeff

stevens243 08-05-2009 10:31 PM

Dang you Jeff and your confusing posts!

turdhurdler 08-05-2009 11:50 PM

What do you expect with falling exhausts and stiff leaf springs. I am too rattled to make sense.

Jeff

stevens243 08-06-2009 12:28 AM

You have stiff leaf springs???? Since when?:rofl:

turdhurdler 08-06-2009 01:18 PM

The leaf springs are what what makes it a Jeep. Even got new ones with the lift. Extra bouncy for those long drives. Keeps me awake.

Jeff
