I hate that I dont have power locks...so I'm going to buy the after market lock kit with keyless entry. How hard is it to install? Anyone else done this yet???

I didn't install mine but had a local mobile audio place do it as well as a security system. I watched most of the install. If you're not getting an alarm (or plan on adding one) I would imagine the install would be pretty simple.

Install lock poppers (actuators) and wire up to power and receiver then install and wire the receiver.

The only thing I saw the installer have a hard time with was adjusting the rod that connected the actuator to the lock mechanism so it moved properly. Just trial and error. And I have had to readjust them once in the last year.

Go fer it! :punk:

Well, what I paid isn't a fair market price. I had an inside deal with the owner of the shop. Basically I paid for the parts and he installed in trade for my skills (computer work)

That said, I had an Avital control unit, remote power locks, and motion sensor with 2 keyfobs for about $350. That included a $50 interface for the Avital unit to connect directly into the Jeep harness; rather than having them hack & slash my wiring. ;) Labor time was about three hours, FWIW.

I have seen qoutes for around $150 just for the remote power locks.
