Turned out good my next step is the front parts on the fender and the bumpers

I like that alot! Looks Great. If you would have just told me, I'd say no-way. But after seeing it, WOW. :punk:

89PBR96 08-09-2009 08:07 PM

There was alot of people that said that to me and they said the same thing after it was finished I like the looks alot

crasha9 08-09-2009 08:13 PM

I think it looks really good too. Now you don't have to worry about scraping the side anymore

89PBR96 08-09-2009 08:16 PM

Bring on the trees and rocks lol it will be funny when people see me with a hard bristle brush and a bucket of soap and water to wash the sides Ha ha

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:00 PM

Doesn't look bad, kind of flat blackish. Not bad at all.

It actually shines I was suprised and they have a protectant to keep it looking good and you can also paint it down the road

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:19 PM

Oh yeah? That's cool. Is it really rough textured like a bed-liner or is it smooth?

I'm sure it'll be nice to just be able to hose it down when it gets dirty.

89PBR96 08-09-2009 10:21 PM

Ruff it's no show Jeep It will be in the woods and what not lol

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:29 PM

Haha, that's where they belong after all. I don't think I'll be doing a lot of off-roading in mine, but I will head down a few trails now and again. I may do something like this when the Jeep graduates to "toy" and not daily driver.

89PBR96 08-09-2009 10:37 PM

For sure mines just a toy Thats why i did this and other things to come

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:39 PM

Looking forward to seeing more. :punk:

89PBR96 08-09-2009 10:41 PM

I kinda stared at it today thinking whats next lol

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:42 PM

I have that feeling a lot with project cars/trucks.

Unfortunately for me, Jeeps have billions of options... and I am very indecisive.

89PBR96 08-09-2009 10:45 PM

Well we got some nice weather and last week it sat for 4 days so this week might just drive it around a bit

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 10:48 PM

Heh, I'd just be happy to have mine back from the shop. Bought it last week and they're still fixing some pre-existing issues.

89PBR96 08-09-2009 10:51 PM

I hear that sucks to have something and not be able to drive it since you just got it

djwilbanks 08-09-2009 11:00 PM

No doubt, worst thing about it is that I am probably going to end up paying my first month's payment with the truck still in the shop. :banghead:

Ya they both are my 6 year old is always trying to turn them back over the right way

Geoff@Bestop 08-10-2009 11:56 AM

That looks nice.
Did it cover up the bodywork patches pretty good?

I filled and sanded after i tack welded new sheet metal in and you could hardly tell where the patches were at i wanted to be a little different thats why I rhino Lined it plus I Hunt a off road so was not going to paint it to turn around and scratch it but the rust is a big deal to me i'm anal and like my stuff to look good

Geoff@Bestop 08-10-2009 12:06 PM

OK, I'm not trying to pick on your body work here at all. I'm trying to figure out how sloppy and crappy I can be.

If you had painted instead of lined it, would the body work have shown up a lot more? How many of my sins will rhino lining cover up?

89PBR96 08-10-2009 12:20 PM

Oh I just was explaining what i did i'm a perfectionist but not perfect. It turned out awesome one spot I can tell but the Flare covers it up.

The Rhino liner covers real good it takes a minimal of 2 coats If you were to slap filler on and sand it half a!!ed i think it would cover it good just make sure you get good lighting cause it's roll on
Kinda the same as painting a house watch for roller lines

I hope this helps you and thanks for interest in what i did

yardfab 08-10-2009 04:51 PM

I like it! Good job! I did the inside of my tub with the roll on stuff. It seems really tuff.

djwilbanks 08-11-2009 12:44 AM

Just had to let you know, you've inspired me to do this on my fenders on my TJ, since they're all faded out. I'll post the before and after shots once I get it done.
