water and breathers!
hey, i have a hose come out of my front and rear axle. mine front breather hose comes up and ends right behind my fogs. Thas not as high as my buddies. Is this normal hieght? and what about the water, if water gets in them, what will happen? Does this mean that i cant go up to water up to my air box?

That doesn't sound right.Seems like it is a little low.

You know, I surprised at how many people want to drive in water. You don't want water in your air intake for sure, but I think if water is going to be as high as your diffs, then stay out of it.

I drove through deep water once. I see deep, about a foot of it. This was actually during a flood. It warped both my front rotors, (water and heat, go figure), and I had to change the fluid in my rear diff. Yes, it was sealed up. Water just seems to find a way though.

No , that's not the normal height or usual place for it to end .

The front breather hose on a TJ comes up the left side of the radiator and is secured there , ending with a self closing vent cap .

You can still get water in the axle housing , even if your breather hose is atop the windshield . The axle housing tube ends are open , have a look . ( unless you have the housing lip seals by Superior or Alloy USA ) , but that's still no guarantee .

If you must drive through deep water then change the diff lube when you get home if you're concerned .

I saw it and I think that when the body lift was done(by the guy that owned it before) that they re-routed the vent line to not have to extend it.
it's REALLY low btw
