bestop soft doors

Has anyone here tried the soft doors? How do you like them and how easy were they to setup and adjust? I like going no doors on my jk so with full doors I'm thinking soft doors are a good investment for the warm weather. I know factory half doors would cost a fortune.

looks like my 2009 jeep :) but my tires are bigger!

would luv to know this answer too!. I just took my doors off, 5 days of no rain coming, but mornings are going to be a bit chilly willy!!! :) 49 is the low, already have top down, suppose to get up to 80 thou during the days the next 4 to 5 days.

Not sure about JKs but I love their soft doors on my TJ. I esp love the fact that I can tool around with the top down and doors off and not have to worry about the weather since I just carry the soft doors in back just in case.

i also don't have a JK, but i love my tj soft doors. i have had the soft doors on my jeep since march. they are great b/c, like jp90talon said, you can ride around door-less and when a storm comes you can quickly put the soft doors back on. there have been several times this year that there was tons of rain in the forecast and i went door less any way. the 2 best investments that i have made in my tj were the soft doors and herculiner.

Yeah, the Mopar Factory Half Doors are outrageous for what they're asking for them, somewhere in the ballpark of $3,500 for the two fronts. I'm waiting to see what the New Mopar Prices will be, this month.

I've been looking at the River Raiders New Aluminum Half-Doors for $1,399, and that may be a Wish List Option.

Next up, I've had my eye on the Bestop Element Tube Doors with Enclosures. At least the Enclosures can be painted to match my Jeep. A set of those would run about $750. More in my Financial ballpark!

Lastly, I've considered the Bestop Soft Doors as a backup to throw in the back, if I decide to chuck the Half-Door ideas, and just go Doorless. My wife won't ride in it without the Doors, so the Bestop Soft Doors would give me a quick On/Off option as well.

Cheers!

Ditto. All four doors are on my wish list. Maybe just start with the front but wishing for all four.

I plan on going with the Bestop 2-piece lower/upper soft doors. They're not that pretty, suck for noise (seemingly more annoying than without), and often leak, but in a pinch, they're 100% better than nothing :) Mark W.

Well I've decided to order the 2 piece doors today among a few other things I had on my wish list since I bought my jeep. I'll post pics and info when I get them.

Spring time and nice weather has arrived so I finally have my soft doors on. The doors give the Jeep the classic CJ look and they go on and off effortlessly. They are not completely watertight but are what you can expect from soft doors especially at 1/10th the price of Mopar half doors. I haven't been in a downpour with them yet but I love them so far.

That looks good. I bought the front and rears for my unlimited back in November. Just waiting for the warm weather to stay with us to put them on. Probably beginning of may.
Were they easy to install? How the fit? any gaps?
Also was curious about the tops. any way to partially open the window without taking the whole upper off? (toll booth)

Installation was pretty straight forward. You adjust the doors as you go.
You can find the info here: http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Installation/98517.pdf
There are small gaps at the door sills which I haven't caused any problems because the door sill goes up so nothing really gets in. You might have to bend in the upper doors toward the body to prevent the upper windows from pulling away at highway speeds. Mine generally stay tight up to 70 mph which is acceptable for soft doors.
The window zips open from the inside for drive up windows.

You can make zipper window clippies too for next to nothing to hold the window partially open if desired. 12" fo elastic cord, a cord stopper thing, plastic ring and and alligator clip. They are the best things I've made for my Jeep! Cheapest too! :D

How easy are they to pop on and off?

Also, do they fit in the back of your Jeep?
