Best wheel pics

Here are my stock 98 Tj wheels. I'm going to replace them when the tires go. Can't decide by looking at pictures of just the rims. Looking for the best all around wheels,(looks, price, durability). Thanks.

I have D windows, basically the same thing. American Racing AR767

I like the look ! Are they 16x8 ? I'm thinking I'm going to go with 32x11.50's. but I'm not sure if they will fit on an 8 inch rim......

If you can swing it, get aluminum wheels. The steel wheels are nice because they're very inexpensive but the drawback is they're heavy as hell.

jpdocdave 09-05-2009 09:53 PM

oh i forgot, your question on 8" wheels, you'll be fine, thats a nice fit for 32" tire, those are 8" on the black one.

InfernoGirl 09-05-2009 10:26 PM

I'll buy your Gamblers when you take em off.... I like them :)

.....and aluminum chunks on rocks. Nowhere near as durable.

I love the black D window rock crawlers myself, and you aint gotta worry about damage when wheelin, and mine ride smooth on the highway. If you go with 10" you will want extended flares though or rocks will come out of your tread and knock the glass out of your mirrors. Ask me how I know.

The debate of aluminum versus steel has been beaten to death on this forum before.

I've run both and now run aluminum (beadlocks). They have never "chunked" on the rocks. As my post stated, they weigh about half of what the steel wheels they were replaced with. Weight adds stress to your axles...stressed axles break.

justin00kim 09-05-2009 11:18 PM

is 16" rims the standard for 33" tires? do people run 15" wheels?

rabunjeeper 09-05-2009 11:26 PM

2 posts up look at the pic,I have 33x12.50s on 15x10 steel wheels

Jesse-James 09-05-2009 11:29 PM

I saw it first hand once and will only run steel but I'm sure many others have good luck with them. To each there own, thats why they sell both.

money figures in for me....

I don't see anyone sticking up for stock rims. Money will be a factor, steelies start at $49.99, aluminum around $109.99, I just looked up Hutchinson Beadlock and at Quadratec they start at $399.99. Remember the old Centerlines ? The plain flat ones with no holes ? I used to like that look.

NVRDLMO 09-06-2009 10:30 AM

Look what I found.........
