Bfg Mt

hey all buying some MT's and everyone talks about BFG's new design but no one can show me a difference or even a new pic. anyone here help me out a little.

thanks

mrbigjeep 10-24-2006 08:50 PM

they look pretty much the same...actually you can't tell a difference just from looking at them...the only difference is the edges are more rectangular

check this out...you'll see what i'm talkin about...theres a pic and label/description on the right when you scroll down a little

http://www.rockcrawler.com/

edit-i posted a direct link to the bfg muds but it wouldnt do it so you'll have to click the "tech" tab/circle on the left and then scroll down and you'll see a wheel and tire section on the left and bfg muds will be there and you'll see what i'm talkin about

I think what they are talking about is the switch from the Goodyear MTR's to the BFG M/T's for 2007 Rubicons.

mrbigjeep 10-25-2006 08:12 AM

No, they actually DID change the BFG Mud terrains for the JK. They look different than my New ones. I have a JP magazine and they showed a JK with the BFG Muds and they have a special tread design for the JK. There was a caption that said so and it was easy to see.

mrbigjeep 10-25-2006 08:46 AM

well the pictures don't lie. i could see clearly that the tread WAS different

osbornl1 10-25-2006 09:24 AM

That's ok, Kat. I expect in just a bit, after J Rations becomes better known, no one will read JP anymore. Not if they don't change their attitude.

Personally, I have trouble believing that a special tread was created just for a specific vehicle, but who knows....

osbornl1 10-26-2006 08:43 AM

well everyone i picked them up last night and they look awsome :) installing them tonight along with the BB. will get pics up once everything is done. it was to dark to take just tire pics last night.

mrbigjeep 10-26-2006 12:27 PM

sweet...lets see those pics when you finish it

osbornl1 10-26-2006 02:23 PM

so do you all think a 2in bb will be enough for the 32's ?????

mrbigjeep 10-26-2006 08:19 PM

heck yes...i run my 32's with no lift...i don't rub on the road...but i did hit a few dithces this weekend where it gets your suspension really twisty and flexy and i did rub but 2 inches should solve that. as long as you don't disconnect your sway bar you will be fine with no rubbing even at full flex...if you disconnect your sway bar you'll probably rub a little though

osbornl1 10-27-2006 07:42 AM

got it all installed last night took roughly 5 hours with about 3 short breaks and goofing off. my battery died in the camera taking pictures about half way through so i will run out at lunch and snap a few more.

mrbigjeep 10-27-2006 09:29 AM

cool. congrats. gotta see those pics :)

Dare2BSquare 10-28-2006 10:42 PM

Hey, how do those MT's do on the highway, loud? ride okay?

mrbigjeep 10-29-2006 08:14 AM

i got them. they are fine on the highway. i can hit 75 and they do fine. they aren't that loud but they do have a little hum which i like. sounds good! and they ride fine.

osbornl1 10-29-2006 08:47 AM

i will agree with bigjeep here i also notice a traction increase on blacktop during rain over my craptastic goodyear GS-A's

i had a set on a previous 2500 and they also wore great the guy still has them on it and i see it driving around almost 2 years later. they look about half worn.

hope that helps

amerijeep 10-29-2006 09:36 AM

I don't know if it is just me, but I have to laugh every time someone mentions that they like to listen to their tires.

mrbigjeep 10-29-2006 12:37 PM

lol sounds cool!
