Wheels

'06 TJ. I plan to do some running on the beach, though mostly a DD. I plan on going to 33x12.50's primarily for the sand.

I think I'm learning that I should air down to about 12lbs when I hit the sand.

What are the advantages/disadvantages (if any) of steel v alloy with regard to airing down; and, given the above parameters would you recommend 15x8's or 15x10's?

15x8" wheels will give allow you to air down more and not worry about loosing a bead due to the narrower width, but the 15x10" wheels will more than likely give you more even wear on your tires because they won't cause them to become rounded along the tread. As far as the steel vs. alloys, there isn't much difference that I have found between them as far as bead grip. The main difference is weight.

What are we talking about as far as increased performance airing down? I won't try to hold you to anything :D just trying to get a feel. For the sand, am I materially better off with the 15x8's.

Thanks
