Metalcloak tube fenders

I was surfing around on some forums and found these Metalcloak fenders for the TJ/LJ and YJ's:

MetalCloak, home of the Arched Jeep TJ / LJ / YJ Tube Fender.

Thought they looked pretty cool and would offer some hood protection while giving a LOT of clearance for front flex. What's cool is that they are another variation of a full fender replacement. As an option, you can add on flares that bolt on and can be taken off whenever you want. 4" and 6" are available so they'll work with stock or wider-track Jeeps.

I talked with the vendor about it and he can give a 5% discount like a group buy if I can get enough people to order them. If you're interested, let me know and I'll get you the discount code for it.

I would REALLY love some tube fenders and this might make it more affordable to do so if others want to get on board with it! Reading the installation doc I noticed it is probably the cleanest, most detailed, and most accurate set of instructions I think I have ever seen! Very impressive.

I'm pretty sure these are the old Rev 111 design.

erickpl 10-01-2009 01:18 PM

I'm thinking they are the Rev111 design too, but not 100% certain on any changes they may have made. But I'm really liking the design and how they protect the hood.

2002Apex 10-01-2009 03:36 PM

i have never seen these or the REV111 yall are refering to. but those are freakin sexy!

AzTJ 10-01-2009 04:34 PM

Metal Cloak is whats left of REV111. They took the product name of their fenders and used it for the company. They are neat, but I'd spend that $600 elsewhere.

Have you guys checked out White Rhino Fab? I just bought some of there tube fenders with a three inch flare for $520. Regular tubers are $175 plus shipping. They are easy to deal with and customer service is good as well.

Got pics?

Love the look but a little to much money for my blood.

5% discount code for Metal Cloak Fenders: polarbear85

PM me your E-mail and I will send one over. The one Chris sent me, I can't figure out how to upload it.:crash: Maybe you can.

The thread on pirate 4x4 don't show the fender with the three inch flare. That is the pic. he sent to me. They will be here buy the end of next week. So I do not have pics personally. Just on my mail.

The nice thing with the arched tube fender & flare is that it allows for a bigger tire without more lift or without a BL. These are bolt-ons with replacement inner fenders as well.

I'm will be picking these up probably next spring and dump off my old PS Tube Fenders.

The price really isn't that bad when compared to Gen-Right, PS and some of the others out there. Gen-Right hi fenders are way more and have a lot of fab work needed as well to work.

PT4WDL 10-03-2009 01:10 PM

I would like to get the pics. here but cannot. The one that Chris sent me will not upload. If you don't need a flare they are $175, that's pretty cheap.http://www.whiterhinofab.com/

Looks like you get what you pay for.

PT4WDL 10-03-2009 01:28 PM

Are you saying it is a bad buy? Looks like the one above but with the help of a tube bender. And it is cheaper. I could build that fender in my garage and not spend near as much as they are asking.

I guess that's up to you . . . but based on what I've seen, I wouldn't buy them and put them on my Jeep. If I had an old beater YJ, like they show on the site, I guess they'd be fine. Maybe if you added the inner fender it would clean it up a bit. I'm not sure if you are comparing these to the MetalCloak fenders, in my opinion the two aren't even in the same ballpark when you look at the overall design, workmanship, etc. Yes they are cheaper . . . and from the looks of it you get what you pay for.

Schmo 10-03-2009 01:58 PM

A little side by side comparison . . .

I'm pretty sure if you have the tools and expertise, that could be said about most things. If you had the skill to make something as nice as the MetalCloak Fenders in your garage, why would you even consider something like these White Rhino ones that pretty much look like somebody else threw together in their garage?

PT4WDL 10-03-2009 05:55 PM

I do not have the tool, but have expertise. Don't not have the time but I do have the money. Those fenders look cool but I did not find them in time. I did find the ones from WRF pretty easily. If I would have waited and dipped farther into the net I could have found the fenders here. But hell if they don't put them selves out there they won't get found.

I would love to make my own but do not have the time.

If you guys want to mark out, then do so. But I see nothing wrong with what I purchased.

Like I said the fenders look cool. But I was dreamong up the same thing a week ago.
