Spring wrap

Cool vid a friend of mine made that shows spring wrap very well. This is in a 4 banger YJ on the street with stock springs SOA and (obviously) no anti-wrap device.

Thats just minor axle wrap from road driving ... what about what happens when you go off roading with lockers :firedevil:

Flat worn out springs don't help the issue.

YJ springs are almost flat from the factory, the flatter the spring the softer the ride and usually the better articulation. That is why the anti wrap is so helpfull you can get the soft ride on stockers and still not tear them up.

ever see what they do when you punch the gas?

78cj7 10-04-2009 09:06 PM

Nope, I can say I have never seen what they do when I punch the gas. I'm not flexible enough to look under it while I am driving it .

........ and I don't have a cool under chassis camera either

then have a friend pop the clutch, or stab the gas while you look under it, it will make you think about it everytime you do it after that :D

i used to wear out rear axle yokes in my younger days, then a buddy told me to do what i just suggested, i didn't wear out anymore yokes after that.
