Axle Fluid Schedual

How often does the fluid need to be changed in the axles? I was reviewing my owners manual and it seems they do it pretty often, but I don't know that mine has ever been drained and replaced...

i don't know how often they need to be changed, but i know that they should be changed after you go through mud and water b/c it can get in through the breather tubes. i change the diff fluid several times a year in my cj, but i have only changed it once in 68K miles on my tj . i think it is recommended that you change it every 15K, though.

In order to change the fluid you just need to pull off the diff cover to drain it and then fill her back up?
