First time Wrangler Owner!

I've always wanted a Wrangler since I was a kid. Now that I have graduated school and I have a job that merits me buying something rugged and pays well enough to purchase one. I did.

Signed the papers tonight on a 2009 X Fire Red.

Purchased the unlimited bumper to bumper warranty to basically cover any and all break downs that may occur during its hopefully over 300K mile lifetime.

We were the the last customers at the dealership this evening and were basically driving off as the last employees were on their way out the door. My dad who was with me noticed as we got in the vehicle to drive off that the passenger side door frame was missing the "jam" part along the top and vertical part of the door. Somehow it must not have gotten installed during manufacturing or something. Gotta bring it in tomorrow for them to get that issued fixed. Caught the salesman and the manager walking out the door and they were super apologetic. No worries. Still worked fine for my joy riding and I'll get it in there first thing in the morning to get fixed.

Anyways. I'm psyched. First time car buyer, first time Jeep Wranglerer. Soon...time to start kitting it out I spose!

Thanks guys

Got her into the dealership this morning to get the door jam put on that was missing.

Ill take some pics the next time I'm at work down on the docks here in Houston so its in a rugged like environment.

Played around a little bit today...made some big splashed in roadside puddles. Feels good to actually plow into those. Couldnt do that before in my little mazda car.

Welcome to the forum. There is an unwritten rule in this forum that you need to learn quickly. It is "Pics or it didn't happen." :D

Oh, and nice jeep

Coyote_94YJ 10-24-2009 11:56 AM

Much better...And bonus points on the dirtiness. :D

Rawb77 10-24-2009 06:57 PM

Haha, woot! Bonus points! Where do I spend them?

Now, if I can only find a Jeep club in my nick of the woods of NW Houston...

Rawb77 10-26-2009 10:15 PM

Friend of mine who lives about an hour SW of Houston has 400 acres of land and nearly 200 head of cow. Took some friends down to her property and had free access to almost all 400 unadulterated acres of grazing pastures. No roads, no path (for the most part) and nothing tougher than a dried cow patty to drive over. Lots of giant oak trees and plenty of soggy wet mush in the lower lands that kicked up some mud. Sure was a good day to park under a tree and eat some lunch while mooing at the cows wondering what the heck we were in a bright red "thing"

Anyways, heres a pic of the new Jeep after we got back. Not all that muddy but theres sure a lot of poop/mud on the tires. (was fun to watch it fly all over the place when we left and turned onto the highway they live off of!)

Also, that same friend is selling a 1962 Ford M151A1. Theres a posting of it in the For Sale section (for those who may be interested in a good condition project vehicle!)
