bumblebee13 10-13-2009 10:13 PM

ok tomorrow morning ill get pics,

also reading up, 33"s should have a 4" lift right?

reading all the stickies, i hopped across the DW scene! this is scary?! idk if i wanna lift it now....

i mean, how common is it? will a good buy save me from the DW?
sounds dangerous, idk now lol.

If everything is done right you'll be ok. And people have cramed 33's under stock jeeps but you wouldn't want to hit a pebble with it. And it depends on the lift and the type of use for the size tire to use with a particular lift. Also the backspace of the rim. Some lifts will give a recomended rim back space and tire size to go with it in the directions. You can view the directions on some websites before you buy the lift.

Death wobble can be corrected. I believe that a quality install is a better deterent over DW than an expensive lift kit with shoddy work during the install. If you are currently running 33s, you may already have a suspension lift. A body lift is easy to spot. There will be spacers between the frame and the body of the Jeep. Most people will tell you to try to aviod anything over 1 inch body lift.

Welcome to the forum and I look forward to the pics.

Welcome! Pics!

jdhallissey 10-13-2009 10:39 PM

Easy there tiger :D. Take a deep breath lol. You probably have a lift, most likely a 3in or 4in. Congrats on the jeep btw welcome to the forum. Looking forward to checking out new JEEP. Remember it is a jeep NOT a car or suv truck it acceptable and RIG is the best! If you call your jeep one of the none approved names well bad things of karma happen.

MR.CLIFFORD 10-14-2009 05:12 PM

Looks to me like you have a 2" budget boost puck on top of stock coil springs. The body lift looks like stock pieces to me.

ryt2112 10-14-2009 05:13 PM

Well, it looks like you already have what is called a Budget Boost by the looks of those spacers between the coil spring and the top of where it usually sits. That would be what is allowing you the 33" tires. I think the body part looks like stock.
If you want to get more height, I would say to move to a regular spring lift and remove the budget boost. If it is done properly, and with decent parts, it will ride as good or better than stock.

And Welcome to the forum :)

Schmo 10-14-2009 05:13 PM

I'm guessing that you have a 2" budget boost or spacer lift and that's it. From what I can see it doesn't look like you have a body lift. This is a bit low for 33" tires and you should either have a 4" suspension or add a 1" BL if I guessed correctly as to your current set up. What do you want to accomplish? Are you looking for something to take offroad or more of a cool looking onroad Jeep?

***Looks like we were all typing at the same time . . . amazing how much attention the females get around here! :D

motokeen 10-14-2009 05:16 PM

^I agree looks like a 2inch puck.

MR.CLIFFORD 10-14-2009 05:17 PM
