If anyone has done this before im wanting to know if i have done this right!
I had 3.07 gears in my rear end. so I bought 3.73 to match the front, I pulled off ring and pinion pressed on a new bearing, There were no shims in it before,
and I cant seem to see where you could shim pinion out, so I had to shim at carrier bearing moving it 1/16 of an inch to the right which made me remove the washer on pass side and place it on drivers side moving axels 1/16 of an inch, in on drivers side and out on passenger side. now my gears are set right but surly ive done somthing wrong! anyone with advice:confused:

With a new R&P you hav eto adjust the preload and backlash. Thatīs not an easy thing. If you want I can send you teh part of the FSM where you can read how it works.

does anyone know how to remove the bearing cup for the pinion bearing in differential?

are you referring to the race? if so, iirc you reach in through the tranny side of the diff with a screwdriver or similiar and drive it out.

dude be really careful. a ring gear set up is not easy. if you moved the master shim to the other side that is wrong!!!(the master shim is the thick one) If you call Randys ring and pinion he will email you a step by step guide for ur spec axle. Tell him Randy from Jeepers paradise told you to call them. they will take good care of u

No we got it right, had to get diffrent carrier and Had a friend help me get it
