Best Seat Covers?
Im looking for new seat covers for my 98 tj, whats the best looking all black seat covers? I want it to pull tight so it looks nice. I was looking at getting thes for the front and back: Rugged Ridge 13210.01 - Rugged Ridge Neoprene Custom-Fit Front Seat Covers for 97-02 Jeep Wrangler TJ - Quadratec

wet okole makes some of the best seat covers around, but they are pricey. they are made in the USA, so not only are they a quality product, but the money goes into our economy instead of china's. i am not sure where the rugged ridge covers are made though.

Those are nice, but I forgot to mention My budget it 300$ at the most :(

jgano23 10-25-2009 02:58 PM

are you looking for just front seat covers of front and rear? 4x4groupbuy sells a nice set of neoprene front seat covers made by cover king (also made in the USA), for $130.

I have seatglovers and am very happy with them. You can usually find them listed for a bit less on ebay.

Ordered the Gl Alette Seat Glovers last week, We'll see if they fit as nice as they say.

Andrew, I had Bestop's covers for 5-6 years when I was still running the factory seats and they fit like a glove... you could barely tell they were seat covers.

The very last seat cover I'd want on a TJ that has its top off much would be Wet Okole's. First, the neopreme is not waterproof... it'll soak up perspiration and start smelling, and if it rains and you don't wipe the seats off quickly or cover them, the rain will soak into the neopreme... and you'll get a "wet okole" unless you sit on a towel. Not to mention their nylon covers fade quickly and unevenly if they see much sun. Black turns purple, red turns pink and so on. Yes it is true, neopreme is not waterproof... not even the very best "closed cell" neopreme like from Rubatex who is a top-of-the-line maker of neopreme wetsuit material is waterproof.

If I were buying new seat covers and if they would fit my Bestop Trailmax seats (they don't), I'd go with another set of Bestop's. They're pretty nice for the $$$ and at least mine fit snug like a glove. :)

Mind me asking
Why neoprene?
Are your seats in really bad shape?
or just for ease of cleaning

KBR97 10-25-2009 07:43 PM

Im in contemplation right now of buying the besttops seatcovers, or maybe just replacing my seats with Corbeau seats...the cheaper ones. Their only $200 each.

filmnews 10-25-2009 07:46 PM

I have cheap ones off of ebay.

The fronts and rear are under $300. I think closer to $225 is what I paid for mine through Quadratech. Sand and mud come right off. A vacuum and wet rag will clean them easily. Nice tight fit. I would definately reccommend these.

jgano23- Im looking for front and back
Jerry- Which best top ones are they? The cloth?
birdhunter- No my seats are fine, I just dont like the look of them.

I found these: Neoprene Front Seat Covers w/FREE Rear Cover - JCWhitney

And they come with a free rear seat cover.

I bought the Coverking with the Jeep logo. They look good and fit good. The only downfall is I bought tan to match my interrior, and they water-mark very easily, so I'd advise just going with black.

Anyone have any pro's/cons to the coverking seatcovers, thats a deal that JCwhitney is offering and im thinking about scooping up the same deal. thanks

Vinyl, which was textured so it didn't really look or feel like vinyl. 100% waterproof. :)

fak3r 10-26-2009 02:53 PM

Covers on JC Whitney's site seem like a great deal

crazyredneck 10-26-2009 03:44 PM

the JC Whitney's ARE neoprene. neoprene is used as a wet suite material because they insulate but still breathe. they allow water to absorb into them and then uses the water to insulate your body from the colder water... just a little bit more on the neoprene subject.

KBR97 10-26-2009 04:02 PM

In the case that you want "waterproof"...dont get neoprene. Like crazy said they absorb the water/moisture. So if it rains on your seats...they will become wet. If your sweating on a hot summer day...they will be wet. If your dog pees on them..they will be wet. Dont ask how I know. Neoprene also sunfades...your nice black neoprene will eventually be navy blue.

If I dont just buy the Corbeau seats that I want then my next choice is Bestop, handsdown. Ive heard and read only good about them. And their cheaper than the neoprenes.

harleyharv 10-31-2009 04:02 PM

I bought Smittybilt with the "back seat for free" deal. I had to return them. Poor quality. I now have Bestop and they are nice for the price.

Loic 10-31-2009 05:26 PM
