Great deal/scam. Rubicon.
I found this on craigs list with only an email so I sent a message just to see because it was a steal. But after the response looks like thats what they are trying to steel is cash. I looked and after the response to the email I can't find the jeep listed anymore.
:blunt: If it was true this would be a great deal. But I'm guessing they would try to get you to send 4900 somewhere and you will never see a jeep or your money.

Thank you for your interest in my car. This is a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Cruise Control, Driver-Side Airbag, Off-Road Package, Passenger-Side AirBag, Rear Bench Seat, Rear Window Defroster, Rear Window Wiper, Tilt Wheel, Tinted Glass and a clean title.

Mileage 48,695,VIN#: 1J4FA69S54P751407.

The car has been well taken care of, always kept in the garage.Flawless exterior/interior condition,no scratches and no dents. It has never been involved in an accident. The engine starts and drives like new and the paint looks great. It comes with US clear title which will be signed and notarized in the buyer's name.Have all keys and manuals.

I'm an US Air Force Staff Sgt. currently stationed in the United Kingdom. The car is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the car is still registered in the US.The car is for sale locally as well, but there are slim chances of this to happen. In order to be able to register this car here in the UK the buyer would have to pay very high import/custom taxes that will double the price. So I decided to sell the car back in the US.

The price is $4,900.00 including shipping from the UK to the US and delivery to your home address.

So if you decide to buy this car or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.

Thank you
Dunn, Jesse, USAF SSgt.

Hell, the shipping cost is probably close to that alone.

jdhallissey 10-28-2009 09:52 AM

The worst is he says he is in the military.

csamn2007 10-28-2009 05:40 PM

I didnt know coyote was trying to sell a rubi lol.

Fatbob309 10-28-2009 05:42 PM

Any time you get an email like that its a scam.

motokeen 10-28-2009 05:42 PM

To bad it wasn't legit. I'd be driving a rubi.

All the fake ads start out like that. When the ad is gone after you emailed them, it's a giveaway too.

I flipped shit on a fake one when the guy claimed he was in the military. I cussed on and on about how low and disgraceful it was to pretend to be serving our country when he was really a piece of :flipoff: for scamming people. I got no reply email :D

I had another where the guy said his dad "owns a shipping company, so getting the car from North Dakota to South Carolina isn't a problem, don't worry."

Craigslist isn't worth your time unless you can Physically go to said place and see the product. Even then Bring Someone else with!

jeep41 10-28-2009 06:19 PM

Most craigslist vehicles are a scam! If you cant drive and see the vehicle, then don't even show interest. I agree to bring someone with you, most people selling vehicles are shadey any way.

motokeen 10-28-2009 06:22 PM

I knew it was a fake as soon as I clicked on it. I wonder how many people actually fall for these scams?

A lot of people fall for those scams

CJinPA 10-28-2009 06:36 PM

Its a scam, but to have some fun with him reply to him telling him that you have a relative who lives in the United Kingdom who can go look at the Jeep for you. Ask for a address of where the Jeep is located and see what he says.

birdhunter 10-28-2009 07:18 PM

Thats a Scam
But there is nothing wrong
with CL if you have any brains

motokeen 10-28-2009 08:28 PM

jdhallissey 10-28-2009 08:32 PM

Sure will.

kaycee83 10-28-2009 08:34 PM

You can just bring it straight to my house after you get it

Rangluh 10-29-2009 07:45 AM

Flagged for removal now..

I got my Jeep from craigslist, but the fella was quick to respond with pictures per my request, and he suggested a time for me to come and drive it. The fake ones won't send more pictures usually, and they want you to buy it without seeing it.

JDsDream 10-29-2009 08:24 AM

That new listing says that he is located in Chicago. I had the same thing happen when looking for a car for my daughter. Same MO, Stationed in England, never titled there, would ship to US on military $, blah, blah, blah.

motokeen 10-29-2009 09:48 AM

I don't get why people would send money site unseen to someone and hope to get the jeep. I wouldn't give money to anyone for a purchase that large unless I got the tittle and the jeep when I gave them the money. I guess some are just overwhelmed by a good price and get crazy. I even hate paying for stuff on ebay before I get it but what can you do?

jdhallissey 10-29-2009 11:55 AM

haha the thing is he changed it to a honda civic now but is still in the Uk and he gave me his full name and rank in the USAF. I want to go find this guy and kick him in the balls.
