Gears for 35"

Hello everyone,
I'm sure this has been asked a lot of times but what gears should I get for 35" tires? I know I have 3.73's right now and the hills just can't take em... I plan on getting a Ford 8.8 rear axle from a junkyard for around 80$ and once I get that I was planning on saving up until I have enough for new gears... I was thinking 4.11's?? I'm not so sure about this... (why i'm asking) but i'm just trying to find a cheap way to get up those hills while keeping 35's.

Or

Instead of 4.11's go with 4.56's?? My friend and I plan on putting the gears in so that's not an issue, just which gears are better...

Thanks!

I'm sure you will get one of the uh......"experts" to weigh in on this, but for what it is worth, I run 4:56's on ARB's with a 4.0/auto. 35x13.50x15 tires. Works very well on and off road FOR ME. If did not run the miles I do on road back and forth to job sites, it would be 4:88's.

4.56 with an auto. 4.88 with a manual.

No less then 4.56 and no more then 4.88

I run 4.56 with my manual 4.0L with 33" A little low but it sure pulls good.

Could yall show me some links of where to get some cheap gears for a Ford 8.8 rear and Dana 35 front?? (i know they all won't be "cheap") but good quality for the price?

THanks

That's the perfect ratio to run with the 4.0L/manual transmission and 35" tires. I ran that combination for years and it was ideal. :wavey:
