Tire & Wheel Upgrade!

I had been looking at Upgrading my Wheels, but unfortunately, all three that I had picked, are on Backorder for the next few months.

So, I had my Stock 17" Wheels Powder Coated Jet Black, and painted my Center Caps Chrome/Silver. I've ordered some Silver Rim Tape, and will install those around the edges of the Rims, to offset the Black-On-Black look with the Wheels & Tires.

I had ordered my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors on Monday, and had a chance to stop by and have them installed this morning. They REALLY look aggressive, compared to the Stock SRA's. I really like the tread pattern, which will allow me to drive Hwy like I do most of the time, but also allow me to go Off-Road/Beach when I want to. No more worries about getting the SRA's stuck in the muck or sand!

Here are some pics I took after the install today:

Thanks! $350 for all five, with a Scratch/Defect Repair Warranty, to boot. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9...miley236hw.gif

I like it! Is there a clear coat on top of the powdercoat? I like the black and yellow theme. I think blacked out front turn signals would look good on your ride too. HA, now i'm spending other people's money, sorry about that.

Is that paint job something you could do at home? Or advisable to take in to have it professionally done? Was thinking that would be something I could do some weekend with some spray paint and clear coat. Afraid to do it incase i bork it lol.

Looks very nice! Keep the spare exposed... no need to cover that beauty.

$350 damn that's not bad at all. I was told from most people that powder coating would cost almost the same as new rims.

JQ!

I'm not really sure. I know they're smooth as silk, and glossy. When I asked them about having them Powder Coated or Painted, they recommended the Powder Coat. They said that it would hold up longer, and be much easier to clean.

Rawb!

Depends on your level of expertise. I'm a Rattle-Can Painter, so I'm not bad with small jobs. However, with this being the only set of Wheels I had available, I didn't want to muck 'em up, and have them chipping a few hundred miles down the road. The folks that painted mine, removed the Rubber and sanded them down properly, before making any attempt to paint them. I got a Warranty with these, so I'm happy!

Chalex!

These were actually a Special Deal! I checked two other places, and they were asking $500 to do the same thing. I called my Body Shop guy, who did some painting on my last bike, and the Half-Door Panels on my Jeep, and he recommended a Wheel place for me. He called the guy up at the Wheel place, told him I was a Preferred Customer, and wanted him to take care of me. At $350, I DO believe he did!

FWIW, the three sets of Wheels that I had in mind, would have cost me $650 for a set of 5, not to mention the Mounting, Balancing, etc. So I made out pretty well, and have some leftover $$$ for more Mods! http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9...miley236hw.gif

Thanks for all of the Kudo's, Shipmates!

Cheers!
