Electrically Activated Magnetic Lockers?

I was looking around at lockers and gearing brands and I came across these:

ECTED Electrically Activated Locker by Auburn Gear and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware

They seem more cost efficient than air lockers since they require no compressor or air tank, and they're not to expensive themselves.

So heres my question, have any of you jeepers used these or had a friend who has? I really like them I'm just not sure about the quality.:)

Hmmm, did ya read the warranty?...

Quote:

....for a period of one (1) year after purchase by the consumer, or 12,000 miles of normal use by the consumer,
whichever is less; provided that this product:

•has been used in regular automotive driving and not in any off-road application; and
Whats up with that??
Seems it's more for a street racer set-up?

But in the overview it says...

which is for daily driving and moderate off road situations.
They seem to have an oxymoron going here?!

I would strongly recommend against the ECTED LS/Locker. Since its inception, many people have reported issues (latency engaging and disengaging) with the unit. Additionally, it is a clutch based unit which is actually prone to slipping in its "locked" mode - given the right conditions. After some time and use, the locker will have to be removed and rebuilt to replace the worn clutch.

A much better choice would be Eaton's eLocker, which just like the ARB and OX, functions either open or as a spool when engaged.
